Apparently they talk all the time and he's doing well in the states?

Yes he had said the grandkids were upset that they wouldn't hear from him while he was in the house... they were happy at first lol

I never really understood how or what happened ..
He explained it all a few weeks back but I wasn’t really focused
I thought he said he’d travelled somewhere on holiday and met this younger guy.. then they formed a ‘friendship’ and somehow ended up adopting him as the guy was about 25 years younger than him .
I just presumed Richard was gay and their ‘friendship’ resulted in the adoption .
Richard didn’t show any emotion at all tonight when they showed the videoclip of his ‘son’

The whole thing sounded odd, like he adopted an adult man which i didnt think was actually possible or legal :worry:

I vaguely remember a case where before gay marriage was legalised, the older of the two in a couple adopted the other, as it was the only way they could be next of kin.
I think (hope!) the younger of the two wasn't actually a child at the time, so I assume it's legal to adopt adults? Just pretty unusual because there are hardly any situations where it would be needed.

Yes i thought they spoke most days.

Couldn’t Richard just be a closet gay and it just doesn’t fit in with his religious persona so he’s hiding it like they did years ago ?
I will say, Richard does strike me as the kind of man who'd have doilies on all his furniture. But that's delightful imo. I'm fully on board with that aesthetic.

Is there some reason why Richard never married or even had kids?
He doesn't come across as weird and I can imagine many women finding him attractive due to his intelligence, knowledge and his occupation.
Now, but more so when he was younger because he would have had hair.
It's something I don't understand. I don't think he's gay.

its a very weird thing
I just checked through his Instagram account
Hundreds upon hundreds of posts/ photos
He’s worked with guys exclusively .. musicians and narrators etc
Not ONE single female anywhere in there
Maybe just a coincidence or maybe a ‘preference’ ..
Have a look yourselves..
Interestingly I don’t recall him ever discussing Fantasy or supernatural stuff with Elsa
///
His Instagram profile reveals that Richard's novels are within the supernatural and fantasy genres.

I see. He's gay then. Makes sense now. It's just he said he was also a virgin which is a bit strange for a man of 60. His own business I guess. Unless he's asexual.

We may never know…
He has a shared Facebook account with this guy but i have delved online and neither discuss their private lives as all .. even in interviews ..

He's not gay, he said early on that he'd have loved to have a wife but it never happened for him. He also said he might be asexual

Did he ever mention girl/lady friends ?

Must be asexual then because it would be hard for a guy to go all his life without some sexual experiences!
It's a pity because I am sure he'll have lots of ladies chasing him now. :joker:

It's very strange, but so is Richard. Like Caroline said, he's like Mr. Bean

By choice though. Asexual people just don’t care about the sex bit

It probably makes them the fairest judge of character.
