What about the ones who've already been given free houses, flats, and the right to live here and yet they had no rights in my view.

I really hate this more de-humanising of other human beings by some UK political Parties.

I find it both despicable and sinister.

i don't see it as dehumanising. At the moment we as a country are being conned by thousands of foreign nationals who taking advantage of our welfare state and are contributing to the crime in our country. The first duty of the government is to protect the welfare of it's own people

Sure,
but you understand
Labour is matching Reform UK
in a way.

Then Labour is very wrong in my view and for me too.
I'd never support this.
All it does is heap even more coals on the fire of the more prejudiced rhetoric of Reform UK.

It IS de-humanising of other human beings no matter how much it gets dressed up as otherwise.
Shameful.

You'll notice none of the virtuous people who are against this, the "refugees are welcome here" brigade who feel so strongly about illegals, would never be willing to put up a migrant themselves.

[Migrants who are in the UK legally could have to
wait up to 20 years before they can settle permanently,
under government proposals.

The Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood
has announced the qualifying period for
indefinite leave to remain will be extended
from five to 10 years,
and will apply to the estimated 1.6 million
who arrived since 2021.

The changes will not apply to people who had already
obtained settlement.

Mahmood said becoming part of the UK is
"not a right but a privilege - and one that
must be earned".

The package is the latest in a string
of changes to the immigration system announced by
Mahmood over the past week.]
