There were pubs in the USA long before when the UK became the UK
Two slices of buttered toast and a pipin' hot cup of tea.
Perfect slapdash breakfast on a cold morning.

"work is stressing me out already I can't think. Numerous inquisitive emails, annoying people and fake bonding arrhhh. Let me put on something relaxing in the background. Ah! A crime documentary..." :conf::conf: I'm doomed when a relaxing show is a crime documentary :bawling:

……I get completely absorbed in true crime stories and especially the unsolved ones when no one has been brought to justice, there are just too many sad/tragic stories out there…

I don't like the unsolved ones it makes me too sad that justice hasn't been served. I avoid the cold case docs as much as possible

…yeah I get that completely also…I feel compelled to watch in a way because I feel as though those ‘unsolved’ deserve their stories to be heard, you know…but I can’t overload too much and have to be measured in watching as it does as you say, add so much sadness also…

I'm not nearly as deep and tend to treat unsolved mysteries as akin to a good campfire ghost story. :hehe: Some of them really do send a chill up the spine. That obviously doesn't rob me of my ability to empathise with any victims in such cases, but my motive in watching/reading true crime is unashamedly morbid curiosity.

I'm more mixed about them tbh.

….ahhhhh, I think though that whatever our specific fascination, it’s a good thought that those stories do find a way of making themselves known, rather than forgotten moments in time, you know…any curiosity that brings to mind is no bad thing…

I'm more mixed about secondary (leaning negative tbh), but thought primary school was a joyous time. Our class was like one close knit family for all those years.

Yes, especially the John/Jane Doe cases. There are one or two such cases where I check back every few years (usually when the case rears itself in my mind again tbh) to see if the subject has finally been identified.

…it’s strange…(…and random…)…to have this conversation in the random thread……about unsolved cases in general and you then you saying that there are a couple of cases that you tap in on every now and again…?…when I went on my email page earlier and looked at the news section and this story was ‘randomly’ there…
https://uk.yahoo.com/news/aristocrat-wife-4-kids-2-170000084.html
…and the randomness of it is that this is a story from 2011 and there are no updates to it so it just felt quite a ‘random’ thing for it to appear at all and at a specific time when we were chatting about unsolved cases…it’s actually a story that I found particularly disturbing and that we were discussing here on the forum …and that I also ‘tap into’ now and again for any possible updates as to if Xavier DuPont was ever located/which he hasn’t been …it’s a bit Lord Lucan-ish in his disappearance …he executed his wife, his four children and the family dogs and buried their bodies under the house and then completely disappeared…if I recall, with one of the children…he called him home from resident boarding school to execute him…it’s a case that stayed with me for a long, long time and one I still think about from time to time…and just so bizarre that it should ‘randomly’ appear this morning as if it was a new story and without it even having any update added to it either…

I was more in and out at secondary School.
Tbh School just wasn't my jam, I could never socialise with people very well back then.

Yeah that was my take on high school
Especially when they wanted to talk about Justin Bieber, Zac Efron, or some random Rapper.
Maybe the vast majority loved their primary school time and had a mixed ( at best) time at high schools ?

…primary school days are often special because our class teachers and classmates remain constant throughout our whole time there, with only small changes sprinkled in…whereas with higher schools, we will have registration/year groups and teachers…?…but we may not share other lessons with them so much so the bonds don’t attach in the same way…each child I’d only really involved in part of the school, as opposed to all of the school…which tends to often be the way more in primary school…it’s a very special time for many and a great foundation to build on…(…hopefully…)…for a child’s school life…..

Plus you start at primary as the big fish in q small pond then the massive change to being a small fish in a huge pond
Plus you start at primary as the big fish in q small pond then the massive change to being a small fish in a huge pond
…do you mean that you finish as the ‘big fish’…?…I get that as well but I feel that it’s also that the ocean is generally so much bigger and whereas primary school age is more about ‘nurturing’ and confidence building, higher schools are more independent learning…
Ahem. The issue at my secondary was more that the kids were generally quite *****.

I really don't understand the appeal of Sydney Sweeney.
Looks included tbh.
I'm not saying that she's ugly, but I wouldn't say that she's a Margot Robbie or Karen Gillan either imo.
To use Hollywood Movie stars as a comparison.
And yes I'm an oil painting.... In my own mind.

I feel much the same way about her looks .. I think it’s just down to her pendulous assets tbh
I actually confuse her with that American pop star Sabrina Carpenter for some reason

I actually think Sydney Sweeney is quite beautiful with her heavy lidded bedroom eyes. And her defiance and no ****s given attitude makes her more attractive in my eyes tbh. And I'm not a tit man. Margot Robbie is actually the universally adored sex symbol where I don't share in the attraction. I understand it, but I don't share in it.

Interesting .. Margot Robbie is a stunner imho
Though I don’t understand the fuss about Scarlett Johansson who wouldn’t stand out in Tesco

Isn't it wonderful we all like different things and are all attracted to different faces? Of course, if we're not attracted to a particular person it doesn't mean they're unattractive, just that they're not to our taste.

I always thought Sydney Sweeney looked more like Mia Goth ,I legit use to mix them up . Then I realised Sydney Sweeney is the attention seeker who sold her gross bath water :yuk: ,oh and she was in white Lotus . She's a very bland actress imo ....overrated.

That's probably what does it for me tbh, she reminds me so much of Sabrina Carpenter.
Sydnee Goodman that co-hosted the Game Awards this year though, now we're talking.
