Thoughts, seeing as both could be invited to join.

they are associate members of the EBU though, Kazakhstan already participated in junior eurovision, and in the times they did, they impressed with solid stageshows and decent songs, they have even more potential in adult eurovision though (and you can trust me there, such a huge variety of music genre they got)
Canada already delivered the most famous winner to the contest, Celine Dion for Switzerland
Australia has delivered the likes of Johnny Logan, Gina G indirectly in the past

yup
but i'm more a hardcore balkan fan, sad to see Slovenia withdrawing, but at least i still have Serbia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, and thankfully Greece are doing better recently with their new national selection format

I agree. For me, Eurovision started to fall apart when the whole of Easter Europe was included.

To be fair that would mean no Israel either (as they’re not in Europe), and they brought some bangers to the contest.

And so have Lithuania, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Israel takes a kicking every year. A young woman who survived the horror of the 7th October massacre was booed and jeered last year. Why they want in I'll never know. Why don't they start a world song contest? Because Eurovision, in my eyes, has killed itself.

I hate the politics brought in to it all. It’s meant to be a fun celebration of music and cultures. Israel’s song this year obviously wasn’t fun, but not all songs need to be, it was a stand out song from a singer who had a great voice.
Countries I couldn’t recall any songs from are ones like Hungary, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Andorra, Slovakia, Slovenia, North Macedonia, Latvia, Georgia and Belarus (I know they’re not in it anymore).
Albania would have made the list but they gave us one of the best bangers of Eurovision this year.
I’d be interested to see what Kazakhstan bring if they join. Canada as a one off could be fun too.
Morning

Russia started a Eurovision type song contest a few years ago. They could join that if they don’t want to do Eurovision anymore. Or would that be impossible The Human Santapede

They started it this year. The winner was Vietnam (I followed the contest )
I’m not sure those not doing Eurovision because of Israel would then go and join the Russian contest.

Not Canada.:fist:
I'm fine with most entrants tbh, I just don't want the US involved because they'll try to change Eurovision into something totally different to what the fans like about it.

Oh I know that.
I should've clarified better.
And just to clarify I do like the US, but the 2026 World Cup has proven that they can't play nice with other people's cultural events.
Because wherever Canada goes, America's not far behind.
Although if America does get picked I am up for a Country number from either Ella Langley or Kacey Musgraves.

US doesn’t have any affiliation to EBU though, so they won’t get an invite.

Kazakhstan would be fair enough as they kinda cross the Europa/Asia borders. I think a lot of people are more used to thinking of them as semi-European at least because they compete in UEFA tournaments
Canada no and I don't think Australia should be in it either
