If this ridiculous licence fee has to stay in place.
Then it would be better taking it from taxation.

Plus from a starting point of a certain income.
IF people need benefits to just live and survive, it is a disgrace that £170+ a year is taken off them, just to be able to watch TV.
In this day and age a TV is no longer a luxury or should be seen as such.
Of course there's hardhearted people who think if someone has a TV and is on benefits that they're scroungers.
That's pathetic.

The same with pensioners, once working life is concluded, they too shouldn't be subject to the licence fee.

It's also absolutely despicable, that somone on a very low income or only benefits with one TV.
Has to pay the same rate of licence fee as those on massive incomes insssuve houses with a TV curtain every room.

It's time it was scrapped.
However I have 4 TVs in my home, I wouldn't object because of my income to be paying more, IF that meant others on much lower incomes especially, paid less or even nothing.

The entire funding model of the BBC is wrong. It's not the only means of communication anymore. It should be stripped right back and only perform the function of a public service broadcaster. We dont need 24 hour news, we dont need soaps and reality tv. We simply need to be kept informed on items of public interest.

Then the licence fee can be tiny, and funded via direct taxation

It's not free...The workers pay yet again.
Come on Donald win your case and bankrupt the BBC.

If this happens I will cancel my direct debit. I'm already on the verge of it I don't watch the awful BBC. I hate that they introduced payments for the very elderly, then give them free to illegals.

No one is forcing you to pay for the license.

As if the scroungers would be paying anyway!
