[Jane Seymour played the iconic Bond Girl Solitaire
in the 1973 James Bond film Live and Let Die,
Roger Moore's first outing as 007, a psychic who loses
her powers when she loses her
virginity to Bond, a role that brought her
international fame but initially hampered her career
in Britain before she found major success in
American TV and film,
including Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman]

But it was her choice to take the role. Quit moaning Jane.

Most people wouldn't know her if not from James Bond. Where does she think she'd have been now without it, I wonder?

She's not a great actress, she's very pretty and was in the right place at the right time. Dame Judi she ain't.
I wonder what Roger Moore would have had to say about these comments

In this film she is breathy, pretty and 20. Any pretty, breathy 20 year old could have brought just the same to the role. I have nothing against her, but she's not uniquely talented imo,
…just out of interest I’m reading the article for the first time and the title is a bit misleading, Arista …what Jane Seymour has said is that she felt that the role ‘wrecked’ her career in Britain only…actually at one point in the article, she was actually referred to as ‘Quinn’, one of her most well known characters, which is so bad …
…anyway, the gist of the article in what Jane Seymour said is that for her and at that time, she felt that ‘there were consequences’ in playing a Bond lady but only in terms of British casting agents, in her opinion…there was lots of casting for her with American accents, hence Dr Quinn etc…and she’s said that she was often thought/assumed to be American because of those parts…she didn’t say that she regretted taking a Bond girl casting/just discussing her own personal casting experiences afterwards…
…one of Jane Seymour’s best performances I thought was in East of Eden/a mini series when she played good and evil in Cathy and Kate in John Steinbeck’s TV adaption…

I enjoyed her in a miniseries they made about the French Revolution in which she played Marie Antoinette.
I wouldn’t really refer to her as being pretty .. more beautiful tbh
I remember her always being referred to as a ‘ classical beauty’ or an ‘english rose’ .
Checking Wiki her real name ( unsurprisingly) is Joyce Penelope Wilhelmina Frankenberg
I enjoyed her in a miniseries they made about the French Revolution in which she played Marie Antoinette.
…I see that’s just a two part series …(…both episodes movie length…)…so I’ll see if I can find it anywhere to binge, I can’t recall ever seeing it so thank you for that……

Nonsense Jane
You also had great roles in Dr Quinn Medicine Woman, and as Genevieve Teague on the series Smallville, great baddie actress in the latter tbh

Funny, isn't it... When we talk about a male actor we don't get lots of pictures posted of him at different ages to judge his beauty now compared to his beauty then.

If someone was raving about George Clooney I would happily post photos of the him and probably one or two of him aa a young guy - why wouldn’t I ?
It would surely be interesting ?
Maybe if someone bothered to start a thread on a similar topic we could see what happens
It takes a second to upload photos with TapaTalk
The James Bond franchise made a lot of actors famous, both male and female, and immediately stereotyped them. Very popular films/roles do that
