H and Claire to Join SM:tv

Acording to this report on Ananova, H and Claire (formerly of Steps) have been signed up to replace James Redmond on SM:tv.

H and Claire to host SM:tv

Former Steps stars Claire and H are taking over from James Redmond as hosts of SM:tv Live.

The duo will present the show with Brian Dowling and Tess Daly.

They have also recently signed a £4 million deal with WEA records.

Claire told The Mirror: "I'm really excited, It's a dream come true."

Conor McAnally, director of entertainment programming at Blaze Television who make the show, added: "H and Claire have been SM:tv regulars for years and are extremely popular with viewers.

"They have a great sense of humour and really enjoy what they do. They are the perfect choice to join the SM:tv team and continue our success story."

H and Claire are due to release DJ, their first single as a duo, on May 11.

I've seen H guest present before and he was really good and seemed completely on the same wavelength as the little cherubs in the audience. My only concern is that this is the role currently being filled by Brian! As they are already showbiz pals I'm hoping this is the start of a brand new great double act. I'm assuming this is only a temporary thing, as they'll move on to promoting the single and things. I don't suppose it really matters. By then Brian will be really quite established within SMTV. How strange it that? - Brain one of the senior presenters!

Sudden thought! If there really is a frosty relationship between Claire and H, and the rest of Steps, how will this affect Lisa's brothers' band? I'm sure their record is out soon.
