[Defence Spending: Merz has backed a target of 5% of GDP
for total defence-related spending,
which includes 3.5% for core military procurement
and 1.5% for related infrastructure.]

the uk is already at 5%. There are a dozen different ways it can be apportioned .... one of which is providing money to ukraine. So as a figure, it's pretty meaningless whoever says it

We're just about at the place we were in the 30s where everyone had screamed disarmament and the government listened and depleted our forces just prior to WW2. We never ****ing learn.

Like I said, we never learn. We have more illegals than service personnel. Scary times... We could fit our whole army into Wembley Stadium. They'd all have a seat and eight thousand of them could bring a 'plus one'.
