Classic YT rabbit hole led me to this. It’s really interesting (if you can get past the misogyny from the narrator).

Yes Great Days
…their floral housecoats/dressing gowns……I didn’t intend to watch the whole 27 minutes right now but became completely involved in that…I’m glad that they didn’t spend all of their evenings ‘quietly sewing by the fire like well brought up girls’ and did enjoy their party lifestyles as well…Robin was living his best life with Susan cooking him 2/3 good meals a week…
…thanks for posting, it was an interesting watch …’one simply couldn’t afford flats on one’s own in town’ so flat sharing seemed like an option that worked well for many…

I honestly could have watched so much more. I tried to see if they had followed up on their lives but no luck. Although the YT comments details a bit about what happened to them all.
I will have a look at that...
…just from the comments below, all of the ladies have sadly passed now…
‘Hermione Pamela Williams Wood was born jan 38 in Bromley. Engaged to John David Hewens in 67 but I can't find evidence that the marriage went through. She sadly passed in 2011 in Bexhill, East Sussex. I am still researching the other girls and will revert when I have details.’
…and posted one month ago…
‘Anne passed away last she lived the longest out of them all, she only passed last year, Hermione passed away in 2011 aged 73, I wish I could have sat and spoke to Anne that would have been amazing’
…and another bit of interesting information from the comments…
‘ Did you know that the cameraman on this film, Brian Tufano, later went on to shoot Trainspotting & Billy Elliot?’

…they lived in ‘Sloane Square’ area of the city, they were more comparable to the Lady Diana’s of their time …(…before she became Princess Diana…)….yes they’re working girls and all self reliant but they all have professions also which would set their income and lifestyle above a ‘working class gal’…it’s interesting because I guess that little documentary came before the BBC ‘fly on the wall’ type insights and those insights were generally…(…or more often…)…the more relatable working class, every day family so we don’t get to see this type of flat sharing dynamic very often…I loved it, I loved the ladies…it wasn’t upstairs/downstairs or anything like but they were city ladies with a combined income to be able to afford to rent alongside the rich and famous lifestyle…
…I mean, there was our parents telling us…you don’t know you were born…!!!!!…we had to wash everything by hand on an old stone by the river etc…but no, wait…the laundry was collected every Thursday and then returned all neatly ironed……glorious, our parent’s fake news outed at last by these four ladies…!!!!!!….

…not just on the BBC though, I would doubt that a ‘regional accent’ would have the same opportunities in any profession that the ladies were in on their incomes in the city of London…

For all the comments asking about Ina and what happened to her…..
At the time of filming in early 1974, she was living with her parents in Barlanark, Glasgow. She married her boyfriend Jim in 1975 and the had 2 children - a son born in 1977 and a daughter born in 1980.
In 1983, she got her dream home, a new build semi-detached with front, back and side gardens. She said that moving into that house was a dream and it was like being on a caravan holiday as the children could go out to play and the garden was only a few steps away - she had spent her entire life living in flats until then. She was always waiting for the “caravan owner” to come back for his keys! That never happened, as Ina lived there for the rest of her life and Jim still lives there to this day.
Along with the house, those gardens were her pride and joy (after her children) and she spent a lot of her free time planting flowers and cutting the grass. The side garden was on a corner and she loved speaking to neighbours who walked by admiring her (and Jim’s) hard work.
She left the factory job and found her calling in elderly care, she had such a big heart and loved to look after people. Ina & Jim went on to have a good life together, they worked hard, had a lovely home and enjoyed going on holidays.
Friends and family tried to get hold of this footage around Ina’s 40th birthday but were told it had been destroyed.
As you see in the programme, she loved knitting and enjoyed it throughout her life. In her later years she spent a lot of her time knitting hats, mittens and bootees for new born babies that she donated to Princess Royal Maternity in Glasgow.
In later life, Ina had 3 grandchildren who she adored…..and she loved nothing better than playing with them in her back garden.
Ina passed away in May 2020 during the first COVID lockdown, and all the restrictions that came with that meant only 20 people could be at her funeral - there would have been hundreds there in “normal” times. Her ashes are buried in her beloved back garden.
How do I know all of this? I’m her son, Paul - my sister Dawn and I have watched this video on repeat in the last few days since we became aware of it. We visited my dad and watched it together, including the grandchildren…..not a dry eye in the house (Ina’s house!) and my dad let us into a few secrets around the filming of the programmes.
We are all so proud of my mum, where she came from, the life she carved out for herself and the start she gave us all in life.
It suggested this one next, which was also quite interesting.

…I enjoyed watching that one as well, I could easily get addicted to these bitesize lives in the 60’s…money mattered because it gave Valerie choices and opportunities that Ina and her family didn’t have…her commitment was to her family and to contributing to their weekly income to keep their home going, the home that her parents had worked to give her before she herself could earn an income and help them… whereas Valerie was able to persue her own interests and loves and work for her own life enhancements, if you like…I’ll watch this one next I think, the office Christmas party in the 60’s…..

I might look at it tomorrow morning.:wavey:
…^^^…I like both as well, it’s good to have that balance and interest of some quite different lifestyle dynamics…this is a longer watch at 48 minutes but it’s also a lovely watch …Norman Berry’s hairstyle is a whole show/documentary on its own…:fan:…the total spend budget for the work annual party was £122, which would mostly be spent on alcohol…they all managed to have a full drink glass for three solid hours with that budget as well…and that would be a time before cheaper supermarket booze, so I guess it shows the value of £122 back in 1970…
…Mary Crowley from Accounts was an absolute darling……

He went on to be a major player in Ibiza and to a lesser extent still is today, but that's mainly due to his sons effort to keep the company name alive.
