It’s understood informal talks have taken place between the FAI and An Garda
Síochána since the countries were paired in group B3 alongside Austria and
Kosovo at Thursday’s draw in Brussels.

It is increasingly likely that Ireland’s home Uefa Nations League fixture
against Israel on October 4 will be moved out of the country due to security
concerns.

Yesterday the Tánaiste said that Ireland needed to “decouple” opposition to
Israel’s actions in Gaza from “sport and decisions made by sporting bodies”.

Shameful if they do that, at least the Tánaiste is talking sense

if ireland can't guarantee a visiting teams safety, then ireland should be removed from the tournament

Feels like the only decent answer.

Tbh, you have a point.

It's what would happen in club Football.

This basically was why Israël ended up expelled by the AFC decades ago, a too problematic nation with too many risk matches

AFC are a no nonsense FA tbh, same in Africa, where they also easily hand out bans where necessary

Unlike UEFA, whom only kick out Russia but for example allow Kosovo in despite not every country recognizing them as a official country

Israelis aren't even safe in Ireland? You'd think the Irish would have sympathy for people under constant threat of terrorism.

Ireland is quite famously anti-Israel and pro-Palestine.

I would urge everyone to Google 'Ireland's history with anti-Semitism'. This is not a dig at individual Irish people nor support for Britain's undeniable crimes through history. But for balance it needs to be looked at and acknowledged.

Yeah the PLO used to arm the IRA.
