Mahmood hasn't landed on a figure yet but could pay up to 30k to failed asylum seekers, its costs 57k a year to keep one in a hotel so she considers it good value to give them 30k to leave.... I literally give up

Why give them anything? It's less, which is good, but 0 is an even better deal.

i can see it being a good interim solution to clear out significant numbers that are here, but they need to speed up the process and get folk out the country faster and then there would be no need for it

Lets hope its not another disaster like the one in, one out policy which ended up with people sent home coming back just weeks later

its also ironic they couldn't give pensioners 200 quid towards their fuel 2 years ago but now can pay upwards of 30K to people who have been refused asylum and are here ilegally

if you give them alot of cash they are likely just to give it to people traffickers to bring them back

Today Mahmood
has stopped Student Visas from 4 Nations

[The UK government will stop issuing study visas
to people from
Afghanistan,
Cameroon,
Myanmar and
Sudan
from this month, Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood
has said,
as well as stopping skilled work visas to Afghans.

The Home Office said the action was being taken
due to what it said was widespread visa abuse.

According to official figures, people from the
four countries were the most likely to make
an asylum claim after originally coming
to the UK to study.

"The government is clamping down
on visa abuse so the UK can maintain
its ability and proud tradition of helping
those genuinely in need,"
a government spokesperson added.]

Sorry I got my sums wrong they are going to offer 10k per family member capped at 40k for FAILED asylum seekers to leave the UK within 7 days, this however will not be a pull factor, .....a single man will get an average of 5 times what he would earn in a year in his own country obviously thats not going to be enticing to anyone  and the Minister said that with a straight face

Too late now. They're already here. I have no problem with the law abiding ones. But so many of them are criminals and allowed to keep breaking the law :fist:
