I'm a wreck.
I just spoke with my friend Vanessa and she said "its OK. You're my friend amd I love you" I'm crying buckets.
I'm struggling in every department. I'm ashamed of myself because there are so many people far worse than me. It's like a tunnel I can't get out of. I can't see the light. I'm trying to turn things around. I've been bottling a lot of stuff up.

….…there’s no ‘measure’ to these things and so many aspects of life that are difficult and impact us so much in many ways…you ‘tunnel’ still feels that same shade of darkness for you…please, please don’t feel ashamed of yourself, you’re trying to turn things around as you say, so you should feel far from shame……

I hope Kate,
You pull it all back
Sending some virtual hugz !!!
From experience .. try to avoid watching or reading about the NEWS as is largely demoralising .. “ sad sells “ apparently.
Force yourself to listen to happy , uplifting, upbeat music whenever possible - it really helps .. even if you don’t feel like listening to it .
Avoid anything that’s likely to make things worse .. minimise the following
A diet high in ultra-processed foods, sugar, refined carbohydrates, and certain drinks like alcohol and excessive caffeine may increase the risk or worsen symptoms of depression and anxiety.

I agree with Zizu. Stay off news sources as much as possible and social media. Social media especially if you’re trying to turn your life around; social media is a awful platform for people showing off all the things they have which can make you feel down that you don’t have that. What it fails to show is those peoples bad moments in life, or what their actual life is like. They just want you to see the “good” things they have.
If you’re feeling very down, it may be worth seeing if you can get a counsellor through the NHS.
You’re also allowed to feel down, it’s a human emotion, regardless if there are people worse off than you.

I literally can't take much more. The walls feel like they are closing in. I'm just not coping.
…I’m looking online atm and if you’re feeling at crises point, you don’t even have to wait to go through a GP…with ‘NHS Talking Therapies’ you can self refer, I believe…

Thank you Ammi. I'll think about it tomorrow. I'm not feeling up to anything today.
I've had hard times but never as bad as this. I can't see a way out and certain people are gonna be furious with me cos I'm not gonna be able to keep my word about certain.matters.

May I suggest you tell them sooner rather than later. Personally, nothing irks me more than people telling me they can’t keep their word on something until the last minute. If they tell me in advance I appreciate it more (even if sometimes I am disappointed), at least I can make alternative arrangements/plans in time (depending on what it is).
Plus it gets it off your mind rather than dwelling on it and building up more dread telling them.

……honestly, Kate….try not to take on the emotions of others also and every overwhelming aspect of what is only going to create a head monster for you…contact the NHS Talking Therapies and just break it down into looking at a step at a time with their help……

It really doesn't sit well with me to use people, to let them down. I despise it in others and equally in myself. It goes against everything I am.
…I think as Ben said, to communicate with others sooner rather than allow that to build up in worry/dread more and more as well may lead to the walls easing a bit, rather than continuing to close…self loathing is only going to add more and more layers to your anxieties…what’s that expression, truth can feel a release and a relief…

Did you check to see if there is a support group (eg peer-to-peer) locally you could go to and talk about how you feel?

I really agree with the BIB.
I have days where I can get really down too, it's perfectly normal to have days like that imo.
I hope that you'll find the solution that best suits your needs, Kate.:wavey:

If you have to do that though Kate then I think that it's worth doing it.
After all your Mental Health is far more important in this particular situation.
