I guess it depends on what they are applying for. I’d guess they are being picky and only applying for select roles or not selling themselves correctly.
I’m looking for a new job at the moment and after a few weeks of looking I already have several interviews lined up.

When basically everyone goes to university, it devalues degrees.

Maybe Miss Briggs should move to your Zone
the world is going through big changes. This has always been true but the speed of change is much faster now than it used to be. Job seekers need to be on the ball and shift their goals and expectations to keep up with the times.
I would say if you aren't getting a response from 50-100 applications, you need to rethink your approach. Continuing on till you apply for 500 is simply a waste of time

You have probably a decade or more experience though, if you have no experience companies generally dont want you

Exactly
I have experience, but it's not good enough for employers. They always want more years or certain qualifications which I don't have.
Distance can be a problem as well,I don't drive...and my last job I had to catch 2 buses ,and I told myself I wasn't going to travel that far again.

A two bus journey is very stressful I can understand why you would not want to do that again

At one time when i was a student, i had to take 2 trains and a bus every day, and it was miserable

Yeah I was basically exhausted before I'd even started the day and my shift :notimpressed: , would get up at a ridiculous hour . Then I'm practically drifting off to sleep almost on the bus.
