I haven't read it, nor am I fan of HP. But I know all the spoilers, and have to say I'm disappointed with the happy ending, haha.
Edit: Happyish ending... minus Fred and Hedwig.

Me and my friend are still mourning Fred! We went to see the 5th movie yesterday and whenever he came on we just sobbed! And omfg why Hedwig and Dobby?Unnessacry(sp?)
BigSister
24-07-2007, 09:50 PM
I supose Hedwig because she was Harrys pet im not really sure why though. Dobby saved Harry though so he got caught in the cross fire
Oh i know Fred i cried at too
Just a question you know at the end you know Victoriar(the 1 kissing Teddy) is that bill/Fleurs daughter because i got confused and the only reason i think that is that it sounds like victor e.g victor krum who fleur was friends with
Princess
24-07-2007, 09:52 PM
Yeah I didn't get that either! But my friend informed me it was indeed Bill and Fleur's daughter.

I'm not ashamed to admit but I Cried BUCKETS reading this book!
THERE BE SPOILERS AHEAD!!! READ AT YOUR OWN PERIL!
I'm still shocked and upset that Fred and Dobby died. Remus and Tonks deaths were sad considering they recently had a baby, poor Teddy. The 'The Forest Again' Chapter was heartbreaing to read, Harry walking towards his death was really emotional adn when he summoned his family i just BAWLED! However I loved the whole book and I thought the battles of Hogwarts was just amazing, i can't wait to see it in the film!

I'm glad he didn't die, another chance for another Harry Potter book in the future then if J.K Rowling decides to write another one.

^Wtf
Also, JK has said she is doing an encyclopedia which states where everyone took their lives after Hogwarts, the survivors. And also a little back story into some of the characters history, like Dean, cause his is 'interesting' apparently.

I think that there might be a possibility of a spin off book with Teddy Lupin, because she said in an interview that she liked The Wizard world and would like to write about it again, but Harry's story was finished. But i wouldn't expect the encyclopedia for a few years I expect nevermind any potential spin offs.

Upon getting back from my month abroad, I pretty much sat down with the book straightaway, and have now finished it. I thought it was brilliant - unexpected, answered questions, fast-paced... I was really impressed. I cried numerous times though, and the deaths really upset me. The end was so emotional yet forceful, and I was amazed with the way things shaped up. I'm happy with the couples, relationships and how things in that bracket have ended up. I think it was a fantastic end on the whole, as JK Rowling well and truly has managed to put the story to an end in a way I wouldn't have thought of.

I found some of the deaths really sad and a bit pointless at first (like Hedwig), but I guessed it was just to set the mood of the book...

Yeah that'd be weird. Ron was so stupid to leave the others! And Harry! He says "Voldermort" and sets off the alarm just when they started making headway! Its a pretty grim book

I wasn't impressed with the epilogue, I wish we'd found out what jobs they did. I mean, Harry wanted to be an Auror but did he become one?! The rest was ace though, love Harry Potter.
MarkWaldorf
20-08-2007, 08:24 PM
He did.
In an interview[4] and online chat,[5][6][7] Rowling gave additional information on the futures of the main characters that she chose not to include in the epilogue of the book. She stated that Harry becomes an Auror at the Ministry of Magic, and is later appointed head of the department. He owns Sirius's motorcycle, which Arthur Weasley repaired for him. Because Voldemort's soul fragment inside him was destroyed, Harry can no longer speak Parseltongue. Harry's best friend Ron works for a time with George at his store, Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, eventually becoming an Auror. Ron's wife Hermione initially works for the Ministry of Magic in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, greatly improving life for house-elves and their ilk. She later moves to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and assists in eradicating oppressive, pro-pureblood laws. She also finds her parents in Australia and removes the memory modification charm she put on them. Ginny Weasley plays for the Holyhead Harpies Quidditch team for a time, then leaves her athletic career behind for marriage and family with Harry. She eventually becomes the lead Quidditch correspondent for the Daily Prophet.
The fates of several secondary characters were also revealed by Rowling. Surviving twin George Weasley runs his successful joke shop, helped by Ron. He names his first child Fred, after his late twin brother. Erstwhile Dumbledore's Army member Luna Lovegood searches the world for odd and unique creatures. She eventually marries Rolf, the grandson of the famed naturalist, Newt Scamander.[7] Her father's publication, The Quibbler, has returned to its usual condition of "advanced lunacy" and is appreciated for its unintentional humour. Firenze is welcomed back into his herd, who acknowledge that his pro-human leanings were not shameful, but honourable. Dolores Umbridge is arrested, interrogated, and imprisoned for crimes against Muggle-borns.
