The ratings are just going to get lower.

1) The producers need to think of better twists - the all girl launch and the £100k twist were pathetic.

2) They put in boring housemates who just big themselves up on their audition tapes.

3) The public always vote out the most interesting contreversial housemates (Shabnam, Billi, Seany, Charley).

i think it will pick up next year. This year i think that they had a lot of false people in, they need to make it like BB3 with a mix of people - i think that BB3 & BB5 was the best ones

Why do you think the ratings have dropped each series then?

Big Brother has been on for a long time, I think it's only natural that people will lose interest. It's the producer's job to reinvent and rejuvenate the programme every year. Which they haven't. I hope they can next year. It's been renewed for two more years I believe. (at minimum)

In time according to channel 4 boss person there gonna axe big brother, and replace it, because he is no longer proud of it, the only reason they keep it going i because it generates 15% of channel 4's overall profit!

also producers have to think of te variables of the show which are
the house
the housemates
the prize
the running time
ect.

we as the public ruin the show we tend to evict big characters early on and basically ruin the show then look back and wonder what happened. this year the charaters were quite bland though i just hope BB can bring it back up we still have half the series to go

That's certainly one main reason BB will wither away sooner rather than later.
BB have themselves to blame by marketing an adult format towards children. Imature minds who will vote on tha basis of someone "Being fit". Profit from childrens multiple voting is and will be the downfall of BB.

The public be it children or adults vote according to their personal dislike and sometimes hatred of a character with total disregard to the fact they are voting out storylines too...

I am afraid BB is beyond help now and beyond it's sell by date.....If the public won't or can't play it as a game then the producers are on a hide to nothing no matter how well they choose housemates or how good the twists are.

I think they should make this the last series of BB - it is beyond help. The ridiculous twists smack of utter desperation on behalf of the program makers, and the conflict is ridiculously engineered, to the point where it almost feels fake. In the first couple of year, you got people appearing on the show because they wanted to be on Big Brother. Nowadays, it is populated by wannabees, who just want to become celebrities without actually having to be any good at anything, and who see BB as their stepping stone to fame and fortune (although it has not really helped many contestants' career, they always seem to think that they will be the one to make it big). Also, in attempting to choose stereotypical extremes of personalities, the program makers have mainly succeeded in picking people who are either not very pleasant people at all, or are completely thick. What happened to the housemates who we used to identify with?

The show has gone way past it's sell by date, and it's time it was put to bed for good.

i cant see C4 axing BB for a while yet, its got a good hardcore base of fans, and during the summer it keeps us entertained. If they did axe it, another channel would snap it up. This series runs all over the world quite successfully.
Maybe i'm in a minority, but i've really enjoyed this current series.

That's a bit extreme. The show has some milage left.

Another problem BB have is they cannot now surprise the houemates very easily. Last night very late four of the housemates predicted Charley would go ( No surprise) But they are also certain and I mean certain that 4 new housemates will arrive Friday night after Charley has gone....

So when something like that happens they will be expecting it which takes away some of the joy of watching BB..

Rubbish HM's, once again only in it for the prospect of a "celebrity" career - although I don't think that can be "fixed" as such. Our society now elevates nonentities to the rank of "celebrity" just for farting on camera.

Any talentless hack now fancies themselves having a "career" on TV, releasing the "pop single" - though some get above themselves and aspire to "an album". Though the desire never gets beyond the talked to death aim of releasing "an album".

Or forge a career by having their picture taken my papers and mags, and sell suitable stories about dumped boygriends/girlfriends, the new love of their life and how it will last forever and how happy they are. then cover the break up, every step of the way - and always were there are photographers. When it gets desperate they wheel out a pretend illness, then make sure they are photograped looking the worse for wear a few times and check themselves into rehab.

Selling every chapter of the story every step of the way.

The tasks this series have been pathetic, but more so than that, the HM's don't give a monkeys about the tasks, that would mean them having to work to entertain the public who are watching, which goes against the grain for those who think they deserve to be "celebrities", think they don't have to work for it and forget the bottom line that its the public that pay the bills.

They "forget" because they see themselves as a cut above, deserving of being "better" than Joe Public and they want it handed to them on a plate.

"Work" for it - perish the thought!!!

Make it better ?

Well short of having on screen executions instead of evictions BB is just going to die the death of a thousand cuts.

I don't mind talentless people having a bit of luck and geting rich from a TV show....Good luck to them as long as they do their best to entertain for a few weeks.......

Granted - but they're not bothering, just like in BB7 - the "tasks" [if you can call them that] seem to be getting in the way of pose and pout for the camera.

Actually, last week they rose, significantly to the expected BB target of 4.5 mill.

as people have said they are only going down because its such an unoriginal show.
No one wants too watch the same thing over and over again, it gets boring.

And the ratings will be lower this year.

But hopes are high for next year, new house a new show. It might even lose viewers but it will gain more. Well we can hope. All we can do at the moment is enjoy what we can of bb8 :)

Maybe a massive swap for the new house with bb:au

there are 12HM in au and 12HM in uk

6 Of the AU housemates go into the UK House
And 6 Of the UK housemates go into the AU house for the rest of the series and they finish on the same day (except time)
