I would like to ask the following question of all the Paul fans that post on this site:

What was it about Paul that attracted you to him the most?

For me it was the fact that he was such a gentleman. I knew, deep down, that there must still be some around and seeing the way Paul behaved with Helen confirmed the fact. If I was Paul's mum I would be SO proud of him.

When BB started, i didn't really like or dislike Paul, he was inoffensive but slightly boring.

But the night of the dinner date, Paul showed just what a gentleman he was, he could have done the dirty deed many times after that, but he didn't because he had respect for the woman he was with

That is a very attractive trait, and i've loved him ever since

At first, I saw Paul and thought, 'Wow, hes a good looking lad' and I kinda fancied him. I did actually find him quite boring though cause he was fiddling around with the camera in the calendar task I remember and just wasnt talking or doing anything interesting.
But as time went on, not just because Helen and him got friendlier, I started to like him more and more. Obviously when he was up for nomination with Stuart, the camera followed him on E4 so I started to watch him more closely.
I saw the others slag him off behind his back and kind of 'got on his side'. I just saw him as really normal and could tell he was being himself whereas some people in there you just knew were putting on an act.
Then, the whole Helen thing started and I just instantly loved him!!:spin2::love:
I loved the way he treated her and had respect and I felt sorry for him when they thought he was gonna go against Bubble!
I could go on talking about Paul all day...asuch a gentleman, down to earth, good looking and up for a laugh - just my ideal bloke!!:colour:

Mmm, now, what would you think if I said NOTHING?

You'd think, the lying toe-rag, and you would be ansolutely right!

Firstly, I remember people saying early on he was the 'babe magnet' and I looked at him and thought, 'what's so good-looking about him?'

I found I liked him because he was SO enthusiastic and genial. Not a bad word, just lolloping around like a big daft puppy.

Perversely, the contrast between his pleasing physical attributes and his nerdy tendencies make him more attractive to me as time went on. You had to love him for it! He laughed at himself, a fact which no-one else seemed to get except Penny, Stuart and Narinder.

I saw him being unsensationally and quietly kind to others on several occasions, whereas others made a great show of any mizzling act of kindness.

He was extremely brave and good natured about being nominated. He was hurt, but again, apportioned no blame and completely avoided any recriminations. Even when all the sympathy and support was demanded and given to his fellow eviction nominees, he made not a murmur.

When Helen made it clear that she liked him, and he really needed a friend, he treated her gently, kindly and with great respect. When Helen then became so enamoured of him that she repeatedly tried to throw caution to the wind, he exercised incredible self-control and he behaved like an absolute gentleman.

Even though he obviously wanted desperately to reciprocate Helen's advances, he managed to draw the line at tender affection and protect them both from untold horrors at he hands of the media had they succumbed.

His mother should indeed have been very proud of him. he had shortcomings, but was willing to acknowledge them.

He was really funny as the straight man in the P&H comedy duo

I wanted to take care of him when they were so nasty

I could go on, but I'm soooo tired!

MWAHH, MWAHH, MWAHH!
Bless his little cotton socks, love him!

To answer this question I have to go through my BB2 voting strategy.

First up: Penny Versus Helen.

Penny was billed as the "Born again" Christian (A term that is a tautological error in my opinion). As a Christian I could not vote to evict Penny. However, Penny's conduct in the house meant I could not vote to evict Helen. So for that week I abstained.

Next week: Paul Versus Stuart.
I was now playing the freak them all out by voting to keep the "perceived" horrible one in (Sorry Stuart), and voted to evict Paul

Next: Narinda Versus Paul
Narinda came across as someone whining and derogatory of everyone (As proved on her eviction night), so I switched to vote to evict Narinda.

4th Week PAUL versus Bubble.
Hang on they are picking on someone and being vindictive. So at this point I resolved to vote to evict anyone that went up against Paul

Come the Josh Versus Helen Vote, it was then that I spotted the romance, how I missed it earlier is anyones guess

At this point I was in the Paul camp, and ran my part of the vote out Josh campaign as a bit of tactical voting. Helen would not nominate Paul.

Come the meals for two debacle and Paul's restraint he proved he was a gentleman, although he wanted to exhibit a laddish persona, for street cred.

When it came to the Helen Versus Paul vote, courtesy of Brian's treachery  I had to view what had happened in the outside world re Big G, and had to regretfully organise to vote Paul out, but maintaining that from a throw away remark about Helen deserving to be in the final week, that Paul was trying to throw the match for her sake.

Of course I then went to the Helen camp.

Outside the house, during the last week of BB2 with the media charaxter assasination of the Mirror and NOTW, Paul showed he was an utter gentleman.

Now as my fellow cynics were saying he was shallow and manipulative, especially in the Guardian, I was outside the camp on the cause of true romance, supporting Paul out of my fixation for playing the Devil's Advocate.

as Brian would say "It's Weird"

Hello is anyone still awake ?

I wondered who voted against Paul on the Stuart week!:conf:
14% of voters though? :conf::conf:
I hope you didn't have your finger on redial!

As long as you saw the light in the end Sticks! You are just an old romantic, aren't you?

Nice to have the male perspective, but, bearing in mind Miriam's question, do you find Paul attractive? Don't be shy, you are only human!

Wow, what a question!!

He kind of grew on me like a wart (in the words of Helen!) as the weeks went on. Then the whole H & P saga got me totally clued to Big Brother and I enjoyed watching both of them flirting with each other.

I'm happily married but often thought "Wow, you're nice, Mr Clarke. I wouldn't kick you out of bed on a cold frosty night"!!
