Why have I noticed Members Karmas going Down?

I don,t know if any of you have noticed this but I would love to know why are certain members karma,s going down instead of being added it seems weird why this is happening too.What do you lot think to this please :conf2:

If people have it turned on then they should expect it to go up and down for no reason, if they're bothered much by it there's a quick 'off' button.

Does it really matter? It's only virtual karma points on a website. I'm not going to loose sleep if I loose a few here and there (which has been happening).

Hmm its a tough one to answer. Peoples Karma fluctuates based on what and how they post. If someones is going down drastically then they need to look at what and how they have posted.

I have mine on but rarely even notice it is there, I also generally try only to give + karma as it makes me feel warm and fuzzy, however I have an equally dark side and will deduct if someone gets on my nips, however if someone asked me had I nicked their Karma I would happily admit it.

It's quite flattering to know my opinion sometimes has so much impact that when I bash someone's favourite (within reason) then my karma drops seconds later!

If karma wasn't anonymous it would be used to decrease other people's less but I don't need to know who did it, I know because it happens seconds after I disagree with another poster who also has karma turned on.

Actually we can check who's giving/taking away karma by looking at the site logs, but it's just not feasible when everyone U2U's the admin asking who took away their karma. If you feel someone is abusing it you can let us know and we can look into it, but for just individual cases theres not enough hours in the day :sad:

I do not think people are using it to comment on the quality of other people's posts, they are doing it if you type something they disagree with. This is totally against the spirit of Voltaire.

My worry has been, if the karma were to affect whether you could post or not. Too much -ve Karma and you are banned for a period of time. Is this system independent of whether we can post or not?

A better system should have been rate a post.
