I've just been to the Daily Star's web site but they only seem to have links to headline news, not to features as well.

Did anyone actually buy a copy?? I forgot, as I was too busy watching the Oscars and looking for "frock" news!!

My guess is that there won't actually be much in there thats news to BB fans!

I had a quick glance at the paper version on the way to work this morning, but when I saw we'd been conned, and it was only BB1 today I put it back without reading any more.

BTW it wasn't Chilledbootz conning us. I saw a copy on Saturday and it had a photo of Helen to advertise today's BB item, so they are making us wait.

But as you say kaphc, we'll probably know it all already, but I'll be interested to see what tone they use. It was 2-pages for BB1, so it's probably good info for the less "keen".

Boy, am I relieved! :spin2:

I popped in to our local newsagents on the way home from work, but they had sold out of The Star - probably only had half a dozen copies to start with!

So I must try harder tomorrow, now that I know they'll be featuring BB2.

I was in the newsagent's today and (hoping no one saw me) I bought the Daily Star. It was, as usual, journalism at its riveting best as you would expect from THE newspaper of the year, as it so modestly calls itself. The report on each of the BB2 housemates told us absolutely nothing we didn't already know. However, they were (for them) extremely nice about Paul and Helen. Paul has apparently 'been kept quite busy. He has co-presented Channel 5's Exclusive with Tess Daly and has secretly filmed two entertainment pilot shows. But the 26 year old hasn't given up his day job and has returned to his lucrative post as a car door designer in Berkshire'.
When Basildon moved to Berkshire I don't know but they did resist the urge to call him a failure for resuming his career, which must be a first for a tabloid. Helen is described patronisingly as 'a loveable blonde lass' and a 'cuddly Welsh girl' but apart from that her salary, according to the Star, is £150,000 on Lorraine, and she has also 'been offered lots of other telly work'.
Some of the other housemates did not get off so lightly, for Stuart 'deals have been few and far between' and all he can look forward to is 'panto every Christmas'. Poor Narinder was mocked for wanting to become one of the Daily Star Bitches and she also 'has her sights set on joining her ex-housemate Brian as the replacement for Cat Deeley. Attention TV bosses, please don't inflict that on us'. Dean also gets patronised as 'down-to-earth Dean was the one least expected to make it big - and he hasn't disappointed us, poor love. His band are touting their wares on the internet, and asking fans to let them know what they think of their newly-penned tracks'.
All in all the article is more or less a news-free zone but at least you now know that you've missed nothing by not buying it and you've saved yourself 30p.

Paul ............... has secretly filmed two entertainment pilot shows.

No-one else pick up on this snippet of information? :colour:

I wonder if this means that we will be seeing more of Mr Clarke on our TV screens in the future?

Fingers crossed! :hello:  :hello:

These pilots are not 'new' news though Kaz.

I heard about them when there was all that fuss about him 'Failing to impress' at some channel 5 interviiews to present Exclusive. I think his agent might have proferred his information at the time.

I think a lot of hopefuls do pilots for new shows which get touted about in the hope one of the channels will take them up. As time goes by, the chances of it being taken up become increasingly remote, so I think it would be wise not to hope for much.

Paul seems to be happy out of the limelight (sadly for some of us). A great loss, but as long as he is happy n'est pas?

Not to mention Channel 5's change of direction. They're dropping shows like Exclusive and The Movie Chart Show in a bid to attract more intellectual viewers to the channel! They've not decided whether or not to keep Night Fever.

That said, apparently Endemol are the company been given the task to make some of these new programs. Basically they are trying to make it more like Channel 4. Even if those pilots turned out to be rubbish and in the style of oldskool C5, it's not impossible they might bring in a new "make your own Ultimate Fighting Machine" show, and a person from their past might spring to mind as ideal.

Paul seems happy to be away from the limelight, so he is unlikely to have been badgering Brian to put in a word for him as James' replacement for smtv, but that doesn't mean he couldn't be tempted to do something lower profile. Well, that's what I'm hoping. If it's the whole showbiz world he's disillusioned with he can still do the kind of thing C4 puts on at the same time as Eastenders about repairing classic cars/PI buses. :spin2:

As long as he is forced to remove his shirt as a result of the physical activity the specialist programme entails, I don't mind!

Bending over the occasional open bonnet would not go amiss either..........:hello:

Although Peachy's already given you an excellent summary of the interesting bits, I thought I'd post up the full article for those of you who didn't have the courage (or lack of shame) to be seen buying the Daily Star! And Peachy - 30p!! You were robbed - the Daily Star of Scotland's only 25p!

PART 1

Brian and Co. Bubble Along Nicely

Big Brother fever is showing no sign of dying with 150,000 hopefuls applying for a place in the third series. But what became of the likely lads and lasses from the first two shows? In our second feature on the hit fly-on-the-wall game show, we look back at the successes and failures from Series Two:

BIG BRUV 2 winner Brian Dowling is the most successful Big Brother star to date. The former Ryanair steward is now a presenter on Saturday morning kids’ show SM-tv, after replacing Ant and Dec. Following his victory, the cheeky 23 year old Irish lad shunned £100,000 offers from the media for his life story and largely kept out of the public eye. But then he signed with celeb agents Peters, Fraser & Dunlop, whose other clients include Kate Winslet. And he hasn’t looked back since.

Dizzy blonde former school teacher Penny Ellis was forced to quit her job because of her saucy antics in the house, but she has no regrets saying: “Teaching was death by paper.” Penny, 33, from London, has achieved minor success which includes a Saturday morning show on Liberty Radio, several theatre productions including her own Audience With Penny with the Royal Shakespeare Company, plus a deal to star in a Jack and The Beanstalk panto this Christmas – rumoured to be earning her around £100,000. Whispers that she was dating ‘Nasty’ Nick Bateman have proved to be somewhat wide of the mark – but the publicity no doubt helped both their careers.

Former lapdancer Amma Antwi-Agyei from London was snapped up for Capital Radio’s Flying Eye – giving traffic reports from a helicopter. Sadly, this career came to a quick end after she kept getting air sick. Her biggest success to date is being signed by Sky One bosses for a few appearances in their sex-and-soccer soap Dream Team, as the shapely model Yasmin who is dating the team skipper. It was reported to have boosted her bank account by £50,000. Oh yes, we almost forgot, the 23 year old is also a regular on the Channel 5 karaoke show Night Fever …. Hmmm.

Brummie musician Dean O’Loughlin had a dream come true when he was invited to play at the V2001 festival last year – after being asked along by Richard Branson. The 38 year old also featured on spoof Japanese game show Banzai. Down-to-earth Dean was the one least expected to make it big – and he hasn’t disappointed us, poor love. His band are touting their wares on the internet, and asking fans to let them know what they think of their newly-penned tracks.

Hat wearing joker Bubble – real name Paul Ferguson – has revelled in being a celeb and enjoyed many a glitzy showbiz bash and concert. In fact, no star-studded party was complete without him sticking his tongue out for the cameras. He is now a football reporter for the cable channel Chelsea TV – the 25 year old’s favourite team. The ex-nightclub boss from Surrey has also set up his own website – www.allaboutbubble.com - and he is a popular choice for guest appearances at clubs around the country. But it hasn’t been all good news for the cheeky Cockney. After leaving the famous house, Bubble dumped his fiancée for cheating on him and he is now currently single.

PART 2

Naughty Narinder Kaur, an ex-medical rep, once starred in a Bollywood movie and was banking on Big Brother to launch her showbiz career. Naz, who is married to hubby Jat, landed a brief stint on a northern radio slot at Century FM and also auditioned for MTV. The 29 year old Leicester girl also became a fixture on the party circuit for a while. She recently announced she wants to be a Daily Star Bitch. But with no chance of that happening, she has her sights on joining ex-housemate Brian as the replacement for Cat Deeley. Attention ITV bosses: Please don’t inflict that on us.

Snooty Stuart Hosking left his telecommunications firm to go into the house. Stu – married to stunning wife Sian – has been approached for some telly work but Big Brother fans didn’t like him and consequently deals have been few and far between. Since the show ended his profile has been pretty low key. He presents a show on Oxford radio station Mix FM and presents on TV motoring show Top Gear. But 36 year old Stu for Oxford is guaranteed one thing – a regular slot in panto every Christmas.

Level-headed Liz Woocock headed back home to Edinburgh after the series ended and appeared to shun a showbiz lifestyle. But she has not been short of offers for TV, radio and newspaper writing work. The 27 year old lass, who has a millionaire boyfriend, has appeared on the Radio 4 show Woman’s Hour, promoted Edinburgh on BBC1’s Holiday programme, and has penned several travel pieces. She has also taken to the air strapped to a biplane!.

Hunky romeo Paul Clarke, who bragged he lived ‘like an international pop star’ before he entered the Big Brother house, has been kept quite busy. He has co-presented Channel 5’s Exclusive with Tess Daly and has secretly filmed two entertainment pilot shows. But the 26 year old hasn’t given up on his day job and has returned to his lucrative post as a car-door designer in Berkshire. The biggest change has been to his love life. The romance that grew on the show with fellow contestant Helen is still going strong – and they are tipped to wed this year.

Since leaving the house, gay star Josh Rafter has signed with Next Models and has put in an appearance at last year’s London Fashion Week. The 33 year old gym fanatic from London has had a DJ slot with Virgin Radio, done a TV slot for Sky One, and even presented Top of the Pops. He has also launched his own health and fitness book. All that and he is still juggling his new glitzy career with his responsibilities as director of the UK gay property letting agency Outlet.

Cuddly Welsh girl Helen Adams launched a thousand catchphrases (among them I Love Blinking I Do) while in the house and since she has been establishing herself as a TV star. She has bagged a £150,000 TV presenting job as the health and beauty expert on Lorraine Kelly’s Sky One show, and has been offered lots of other telly work. The 23 year old loveable blonde lass also released a fitness video in which she bounces around in front of a huge glittering sign reading ‘Helen’ – very tasteful. But her biggest prize has been a boyfriend – fellow contestant Paul Clarke – and the pair are tipped to tie the knot this year.

There you are! As Peachy said, nothing new there. In fact, we probably know a lot more than the Daily Star! :colour: :spin2: :colour:
