Lily Allen banned from US
Singer endures five-hour airport ordeal
Lily Allen has been banned from the US after being stopped at Los Angeles airport.
The singer had her US visa cancelled after being held at an American airport, locked in a cell and strip-searched, reports The Mirror.
"I am trying everything I can to sort this out. I don't like letting my fans down," explained Allen. "It is my intention to play my American dates in September. This depends on authorities granting me a new work visa."
She added: "I want my fans to know that I will do everything I can to be back in America in September. I don't like letting my fans down and this is a situation that I am sure we can sort."
She was challenged by US custom and immigration officers at Los Angeles international airport on Sunday (August 5).
Allen was due to fly into Las Vegas for an awards ceremony, but instead, after negotiations with her lawyer, the singer was released by authorities five hours later and went home.
US immigration officers are understood to have questioned the singer about her arrest in London in March following an alleged clash with a photographer.
