View Full Version : Overanalysing?

Do you think people (mostly bigger BB fans who go on forums) analyse housemates behavour way to much?
For example if someone wears a bikini they immediately become a slut, if someone looks at a couple they are jealous, if someone smiles they are being fake. If someone doesn't smile they are miserable and boring.
I've noticed this happens a lot.

Yes! I am probably guilty of it as well but you can't deny it does happen. But when there is somebody in the house that you don't like and when you trying to explain your dislike for them on a fourm I suppose you do pick up on every little thing that they do.

BBOTC is really bad for that. Someone says the twins might want to share there clothes, so she wants to BE the twins

No, I don't think it gets analysed enough.
Big Brother is a social-experiment for entertainment. The whole point is to analyse it. Like "On The Couch" is trying to promote this year, more in depth analysis from psychologists and they've even got Davina involved to get the hardcore Big Brother fans on board.
The more opinions with in-depth analysis the better, as far as forums are concerned. After all, even psychoanalysis is largely about opinions, rather than facts.

That would be a stereotype more than an analysis, I think. Something which comes from a lack of proper analysis, if anything.
Just a little analysis of your post, for a laugh, eh?

I know what you mean chris but im gulity of that as well i do it all the time while im watching the highlight show and even on the forums i do it a lot
I think some people take things the housemates say a bit too literally sometimes and than cause some over analysis of the housemates. It's often just picking at tiny little things to try and make it out to be some major thing.

I think we are all use to how the show works now...we recognise the smallest details and instantly have an opinion on it. Things which we see bring back thoughts on previous years and we begin to recognise things alot quicker which leads to over analyising things. I don't think there is anything wrong with looking at things in detail aslong as you can see that other side of things too.

Totally agree. I dont think the fans and viewers over analyse, they just state the blatantly obvious things. But BBOTC goes way overboard, some of the ideas they come up with over the slightest body signals are complete nonsense! It is interesting to watch but I doubt it's even 50% accurate.

I agree sometimes we are all like that, we can't deny it. We only watch a daily show everynight and not more therefore if you don't see a lot of one housemate (Tracey) then she's boring, or Amy is a slut because she wears a bikini. A lot of things like that happened. But not at all the time I suppose, I make an opinion on a housemate by how this one thinks and reacts.
