AAA i did a similar one and i used screen record you go onto the channel 4 website click on 360 tour then you screen record the spin.and your avatar is mazin well done.

How do u change the video to an animation

Right go on www.download.com type in Ulead GIF Animator 5
download it you only have a 15 day trial but its woth it right then drag you video into ulead animator 5 and wait for couple mins edit it if you want than click file then save as gif file but the vid needs to be an AVI format.and it will be in your pics folder.
