Beat the Teacher
Day 81, 20:21
Jonty takes on Big Brother in a battle of historical wits...
Big Brother gave Jonty eight subjects this evening in the Diary Room and asked the 36-year-old to quiz Big Brother on any of them.
After choosing 'history' as his specialist subject, Jonty then had two minutes to ponder his potentially tricky query.
"Thinking of a toughie, Jonty?" Big Brother asked.
"I don't know," Jonty sighed. "I don't know what you know and what you don't know!"
Are you keeping up here?
When time was up, Jonty finally asked the baffling question: "After which battle did James IV become King of Scots?"
The clock began ticking, as the cogs in Big Brother's big brain whirred silently. "Big Brother's thinking... it's not the Battle of Hastings. Something in Scotland? Big Brother's going to pass, Jonty."
"Would you like me to give you the answer?" Jonty asked, slightly smugly.
Big Brother would like you to give Big Brother the answer, thank you Jonty," he was told.
"My pleasure," the new House intellectual replied. "It's the Battle of Sauchieburn in 1488."
Jonty was then told to leave the Diary Room, but not to discuss his encounter. We could be wrong, but we're not sure the other housemates would be that interested in the Battle of Sauchieburn anyway...
