By live forever do you mean get old in the process?

Sure, it'd be hard watching everyone I love die and having to re-make alliances but I love adventures.

No Laura, all sharp ojbects, ropes and high buildings will be out of reach for you.

That's actually really tough, the idea of dying tomorrow is horrible but living FOREVER scares the $hit out of me, imagine what the world would be like in forever and you have no way of escaping - scary.

I would definitely rather die next year. I'd have a chance to sort stuff out, do what ever I wanted and not have the prospect of watching everyone I love, die.

Die next year. The pain of finding some one to love and losing them over and over again would be to much. So you would become emotionless to protect yourself. A life with no emotions is no life.

I am shocked at how many people have chosen to die next year. Is life really that bad......

Why fear living forever!!! The world and societies will continually evolve along with techo toys to play with and relationships to explore....As you would be able to live forever then there would be no fear someone could kill you at an inconvenient time.

Living forever would mean you can watch BB forever.....Ahhhhhhhh so that why some have chosen the other way.

An immortal life would be great for the first couple of hundred years. But there will be a time when things will change so much, that you'd want to die. And imagine being stuck at the end of the universe on your own, not being able to escape life.

I'd rather, enjoy life to the full for the next year, and then die, than live forever in misery.

I would take my chances that at some time in the future time travel became possible then one could go back and make sure you are not alone.....Life is always a gamble...I think life should be accepted as a gift to keep as long as possible.....

Also there is a damn good chance I would run into Dr Who and watch BB with him. .....Now isn't that worth living for....

Imagine being 4 billion years old, the earth has gone, what will you do? You'd be floating about space? Or maybe man would have settled somewhere else by then. But what will you do when the universe collapses on itself? You'll be floating about in nothingness forever and ever and ever, you'd want to die then...

I think the question is a really sad one. No offence to the person who posted it and I think someone else has already said that it is terribly depressing to see how many people would choose to die next year!

I could not select either choice as I have a life which is not great but I do not wish to die yet, nor do I wish to live it continuously. :conf2:

Aye, but if you had to, which would you chose? Being stuck in a life of eternal torture, or live peacefully and enjoy life to the full for another year?

cepd, can't choose.

I live with chronic pain due to a spinal condition so I'm not being a melodramatic Chanelle here. I know what it is like to feel depressed about life as the last few years have been challenging at times to say the least. Most of the time I am an optomist; I know for instance that my life is better than it was a year ago. So say I had decided that 12 months ago I was going to end my life then it would be the totally wrong decision! My kids would be without a mother, my husband without a wife and my spriit would have been tortured. :bawling:

This is a qood question though because it has made me think about those I love around me and my own importance to them which I don't normally do.
Signed bigheaded wiglet!

The idea of being alone for eternity is just too scary.

All matter gone except the one/one's that can live forever.

Now if say all of us choose to live forever no one would be left alone....and there would be enough people for BB to continue. As there would be no matter they would not have any food so big arguments alround. Can't wait....

It is a morbid topic, but certainly an interesting one. I can only assume that many of the posters within haven't thought it through too well. The choices of Dying next year or Living forever are both frightening prospects. I looked at Wiglet's post whereby she talks about her personal health condition and that is why she chooses to abstain. I can certainly understand that and that decision was very sensible under those cicumstances. What I must point out, is, that if you could live forever and having [that blessing brought upon you] Also meant that you stayed at your present age and stayed healthy throughout, then it would be a good choice to live forever. But the choice of [Dying next year] instead, is a very negative view and I couldn't say that, even if I get depressed

"Also meant that you stayed at your present age andstayed healthy throughout, then it would be a good choice to live forever"

I disagree. So as i live for ever, first I would see my partner get old and die, then my kids. Who knows they may go senile in there old age and forget who I am instead of the other way round. You have to nurse them till they finally give up one their painful life, a shadow of what you brought in to the world . Would you really want to see your kids go through that? Your parents would be hard enough, but we are conditioned to expect them to go before us. Not the other way round.

Yes you could get another partner and have more kids, but deep down you know you are going to lose them again and you will be left by your self. No, thats not for me.

Lauren
21-08-2007, 10:59 PM
It appears most people would rather die next year.

Totally respect their opinion and can see where they're coming from cos I feel the same.

But ultimately I chose to live forever. Goodbye, LOL.
