live renedition on games

am i correct in saying that

use gta for example

in games like playstation games where they show you a little film/clip of what the game is about is that what u call a live renedition.

so an actor or actress will act that out live exactly the same as what happens in the clip before the game

They did the Scott Marsden (DS Phil Hunter from the Bill) thing in GTA 2, for the begining of the game
but thats the only one I've ever seen
