Simon Cowell has launched a stinging attack on Big Brother, labelling the stars of the hit Channel 4 series "bad actors."

Speaking at the launch of the second series of Pop Idol, Cowell argued that the latest series of Big Brother - which was won on Friday by Scot Cameron Stout - was full of people seeking instant fame.

He said: "Big Brother is not reality any more. You don't get 10 normal people to do it. You get 10 crap actors in the house."

The rest of the article - CLICK HERE (http://www.ananova.com/entertainment/story/sm_805134.html?menu=entertainment.latestheadlines) to read it - is mainly concerned with the lauch of Pop Idol 2.

Who cares what Slimy Simon thinks anyway . . . . . he backed the wrong contestant during the first Pop Idol, didn't he?

Well sadly for him, he obviously didn't realise that there were 12 housemates (then went up to 13!) in BB4 not 10!

I think he has a point if you look at the amount of housemates this year that are trying to get into media jobs. On the Little Brother's reunion show, a lot of them said that there dream job would involve something to do with working on TV.

On Fame Academy the other night Robin Gibb didn't seem to want to criticise anyone. Probably because he's afraid of harming his reputation.

Simon Cowell is the opposite, he made a name for himself by being 'nasty'.

Well, I think Simon was particularly criticising what it has become, not what it started out to be.

I think BB1 was full of curious and rather naive people, BB2 had one or two looking for fame or fortune, the rest for a laugh.

BB3 had to bemore about fame, they really knew what they were going in for

BB4 was, I believe ALL about going in for fame, no matter what any of them say.

In that respect, he is right.

Simon Cowell makes a fortune out of people disliking him, but I do respect him for his honesty on things like Pop Idol and particularlt American Idol. The rest were saccharine. And if he got it wrong, he did admit it.
