NEXT year’s Big Brother could be a feisty family affair.

Bosses want to fill the house with a hell-raising brood like the fictional Gallaghers on Channel 4’s Shameless, above.

The rowing relatives plan is a bid to breathe new life into BB after this year’s show limps to a conclusion at the end of this week.

The family would come from a rough housing development like the Gallaghers’ Chatsworth estate.

An insider said last night: “As everyone would know each other, there would be no being nice to each other for the first few weeks. There would already be lots of bad blood and arguments between the contestants so they wouldn’t be afraid to confront each other.

“If some of them have Asbos or have been banged up in jail, so much the better.

“Dysfunctional families make better telly than goody-goody ones. We’ve seen that before in shows such as Wife Swap.”

Producers are considering families with up to 13 members.

Top of the wish-list is a layabout dad, a mad mum and a teenage girl.

Non-relatives might be brought in gradually.

Will blood prove thicker than water?

BB needs to evolve to move on. That story could have been placed in the paper to gauge public opinion just like the politicians do with new policies?

Just a thought.
