View Full Version : If Madeley's comment was said to another contestant?

I may not think highly of Ziggy, but Richard Madeley said something which was highly offensive. Ziggy has every right to feel the way he does and paranoid that others in the outside world may feel the same but that is not my beef here. My anger is towards the comment and the fact that Madeley said it in the first place and C4 played it into the house. Everyone has taken the micky out of Madeley but I'm concerned that acceptance of his act will then take place and he will apologise (if he has not already). But what if Madeley decided to comment on Carole and for instance used a word sounding like 'itch'? What if if he picked on Brian and lets not even go there with what word he may of used!
I don't know how I am trying to word what I am saying (as I am rubbish at this) but I am trying to say we appear to have this double system and people get away with it daily and it is noticable even more when you see it on shows like BB. Should the likes of Richard Madeley be allowed to apologise for what he said and all be well or should more be done to stop this two tear system?

Richard's comment was totally out of order. I can remeber that Abi Titmuss was sacked by Richard and Judy for bad behaviour off set, she was in the newspaper and some bad things about her came out. Richard's comment is just as bad as what Abi did. I think Richard and Judy should be pulled out from the tea time slot on Channel 4 because he's obviously not setting a good example to children who may have found out what he said. Really, Richard is just giving himself a bad name to Channel4, himself and his chat show.

Ok, I don't know what was said as I don't watch the show, but the best way to get to madeley would be for Ziggy to bring up his shop lifting past. Maybe buy him a bottle of wine to show there are no hard feelings, pointing out that it had been paid for. Madeley don't like people talking about that.

The Madeley comments were indeed out of order. Also BB's decision to deliberately cause strong mental anguish to a contestant could also be regarded as out of order.
What can be done....Nothing if you want to maintain as free a free speech society as possible.
There are slander/libel laws to deal with blabber mouths like Madeley......It's down to Ziggy really if he wants to persue the matter in law when he gets out.......
I don't believe we should deal with double standards by attempting to implement more and more censorship on free speech.
At the end of the day if you give them enough rope people like Madeley cook their own goose
