Preston Diary Update on MySpace

Warning:Very depressing-espically for fans.

Philedelphia, Guitars and Dinosaurs

So... I moved to Philadelphia... I preempted a nervous breakdown that was building in my brain... I figured if I have it here it will be more romantic...

The idea is to try to write a solo record and not come back until it's done... So far I've just drunk wine in my hotel room... I bought a Fender Rhodes and a Strat and I move into my flat on Tuesday...

Actually I went and saw the walking with dinosaurs stage show which was unbelievable.... I saw plastic little and I saw lifetime... I went to the art gallery where I used to work... I'm going to some karaoke parties tonight and tomorrow...

Sorry I haven't been more proactive in my communication but the whole divorce thing was really making me sad and I think I was in danger of turning into a weirdo... I'm going to try to cheer myself up so the record isn't too depressing and I'm going to get off my pills etc. and eat better and go to the gym and cut down on wine and ciggies... Just writing that made me spark up and it's 8am but good intention is better than total apathy...

Simon's new band is supporting lucky soul who are my favourite band and I'm not going to be around to see it.... I still love you... wait for me x

Preston - 31/08/2007

Eh oh. I am writing this diary entry from the public library in Princeton, New Jersey. I have spend a couple of days perousing the jazz vaults of my grandfathers record collection... Heaven... I have written some music.. perhaps for a solo record... i am feeling pretty blue about the hiatus with the ordinary boys and it has driven me to write more and be much more personal lyrically... watch out if you are easily depressed!...

I have been painting although this has been mainly due to having a flat to decorate and a baggage limitation on my return flight...

I went rollerskating with andrew jeffrey wright who works out of an art space called the space at 1026 arch street in Philly... 1026 have agreed to do the artwork on whatever i do next...
I have been writing my novel and generally recovering from my overindulgent first couple of weeks in Philadelphia...

I will keep you posted as to the next phase of my visit/ crisis. I think it will be the intense partying followed by this intense productivity leading to an intense feeling of homesickness and lonesomeness... i also had to wimp out of a tattoo half way through because it hurt so much... I have half a tiger on my back....
