Big Brother boffin Jon Tickle has landed a role as a TV presenter - on a wacky science show.

Jon, who became a cult figure in the House for his nerdy behaviour, will conduct experiments on an anarchic new show for Sky One which launches in the autumn.

The physics graduate will be a guest host on Brainiac which is aimed at making science more fun, with stunts that viewers can pull off at home.

Station controller Sara Ramsden said: "He took a while deciding whether he wanted to get into telly or not and he has decided this feeds his interests.

"I just loved watching him on Big Brother and we thought he might be suitable when he started getting more and more popular and realised how bright he was.

"We started chatting to him as soon as he came out of the house. It's going to be a completely anarchic show. It will be things like putting various chemicals down a toilet to make it erupt like Mount Vesuvius.

That's great news James, it would have been such a waste if John had just gone back to his job. This show sounds like a laugh and hopefully will be ideal for him.

Wonderful news! Thanks James, I guess this was the much awaited announcement Jon mentioned on RI:SE. I'm pleased he's decided to make a career in TV, and I hope the show will prove a success.

We'll have to wait and see, it sounds a bit naff to me, putting chemicals down the bog who's it aimed at 8 year olds. There isn't much on Sky one that lasts very long unless it's American then it goes on forever. The best thing they did was Time Gentlemen Please. What's happened to that? :conf:

Well the nature of the show suits Jon down to the ground. "Naff kiddy stuff" I always new he was lying when he showed no interest in a TV career. You can fool some of the people some of the time......They are welcome to him and this "Old " Kiddy won't be tuning in. Jon and BB4 was more than enough for me........
