Just to put some of the rumours at rest, there will definately be another series next year. (BB9)

So, the Papers are all wrong

BB secured until at least BB9

Big Brother will be on air until at least 2008, even if ratings fall, according to Channel 4.

The network is currently halfway through its four-year contract with BB production company Endemol, although it's almost certain to be extended by two to three years, taking the series through to Big Brother 9 in 2008.

"At this stage it is good for another two or three years beyond the current four-year deal," said Peter Grimsdale, head of cross-platform development at C4. "It has become a fixture in the nation’s calendar and has become an event in people’s lives."

He added that the show would still be "worthwhile property" even if ratings began to drop because it brings high ratings to E4, where live action from the house is streamed around-the-clock.

Meanwhile, the teenage 'Big Brother' may indeed have some truth to it. This week's Broadcast magazine reports that C4 is in discussions with Endemol over launching the series in time for Christmas.

It's been contracted to 20011 since then, thats series 12. So unless theres some even poorer ratings than BB8 had (which I doubt there will be) we're set for at least another 4 series.

The article the OP posted is 4 years old, its referring to the already gone teen BB that took place in october 2003.

Of course it will be on next year, auditions have already been advertised on the C4 site.

What I want to know however, is whether the BB 9 tv ads for the auditions will use the BB8 logo and titles, the black template logo or a mixture of all the previous ones.

Again, the contract has been renewed to 2010, they are REQUIRED to make Big Brother unless it become far too unpopular or the government shuts it down.

it said in heat that its supposed to look and feel different next and might move from were it is now :S i dont want it to be really different but then again it might be more better and more people watch it then it goes on for longer :)
and there is a special BB event on e4 in early 2008 to replace celeb bb

bb will also never move to e4...its contracted on c4...so we are gauranteed at least another 4 years of channel four bb fun!

i doubt there will be any TV at all in the year 20011 (or at least not as we know it now!)

It will be on next year and it will hopefully be a better one than this year. They are looking for Housemates to audition - soooooooooo there goes!! roll on Big Brother 9
