Such as 50 Cent, Spice Girls, Britney Spears and such like.
So I thought id ask if there's anyone out there who doesn't just like bands thrust on our television screens, but one's that are less known.
It's always nice to see people who aren't afraid to like music for what it is, and go to the effort to find genuinely talented people..rather than who is most liked in the charts etc.
So first of all, has anyone heard of/like:
Chiptunes?
Gabber?
Hard Dance?
Powerpop?
Electro/Electronica?
Piano/Classical?
Anime/RPG tracks?
If so, any particular artists/songs you're a fan of?

Daft Punk is a good choice...
There's a chiptune remix of Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger [i think thats the right order.] I quite like too.
I forget who the artist is, but I suppose I could find out.

It's Kayne West, it was the Ziggy's best bits, but I had the music a long time ago.

Lol...
I meant I forgot the chiptune artist who remixed the song, not who originally sang the song =] but thanks anyway.
Has anyone heard of Freezepop/Ladytron?
I don't listen to them much anymore, but I used to be a big fan.
And how about DJ Neophyte or Scott Brown?
[both known for gabber music..Neophyte more so than Scott.]

I think people should just like the type of music they want to. I am a HUGE Take That fan and its not because they're popular, its because I love them and their music. But I also like lesser known people like Switchfoot and Rachael Lampa. Everyone should be proud of who they love.

There is nothing wrong with pop music. I love it and can't get enough of it either. But I do like some dance music too, I love this song by the Prodigy -

Lol everyone seems to be confusing this with an anti-POP topic...
Im not interested in POP, correct. So ive made a topic to discuss music that isn't remotely POP =] you respect my taste's, I respect yours.
But nowhere did I say anybody shouldn't listen to it.
And this isn't a topic for people to have an excuse to come along and say things along the lines of "what have you got against pop? I like pop, we should all be able to like what we want."
If you like POP, stick to POP topics =] don't come into non POP topics and start forcing your view on how POP is good. This isn't a POP topic, so POP shouldn't even need to be discussed.
And im afraid POP isn't just classed as Britney and Westlife singing love songs these days.
POP has now moved onto RnB and Indie/rock.
Basically, popular music that's in the charts and everyone is aware of.
So in my eyes, 50 Cent is indeed POP, as is Kanye West, Beyonce etc.
In short, making out im telling you what you should listen to is only an excuse to cause arguments, and id prefer it if you didn't bother =] thankyou kindly.
But congratulations, you've now suceeded on turning my topic on non POP music, into a topic all about POP. Thanks for that.

I quite like Prodigy myself...
Especially Spitfire and Out Of Space.
My friends a big fan of there's, and claims they're the only band he's ever listened to who's songs are all good. Without any exceptions.

Ah I'm honestly into metal (not the crazy stuff, just metalcore, nu-metal, alternative metal & stuff), rock, punk & alternative... absoulte hater of pop & emo's music...
If you like electro (kinda... more industrial though)... (assuming that your into hard rock/alternative too) try Powerman 5000, they're pretty good (songs to try are probally Bombshell, Free, When Worlds Collide & Action)
