This thread is for discussion of Task Three, which involves us coming up with a new feature for TiBB and presenting it to James.
The team leader for this task is Ben.
May I take this opportunity to welcome Ben on to Team Taskjackers, and Ruth back on board.

How about a arcade, where theres some game's there, i think it'll be fairly easy to do and a high score thing.

Nominations and Weekly Awards
All members would nominate for certain things ie.
* Most politically correct housemate
* Favourite member on TIBB etc.
And members would nominate for who they wanted to win, then the 5 members with the most nominations will then go up in a poll to find out who is the most.....(what ever the award maybe) and the members would find out who the winner is for that week, they could be different awards different week, and they could be different presenters, etc. Just an idea -

^cool idea, but how would we get it to work though, i like the idea of poster of the month, like the posters who have posted and contributed the most gets put on a poll and we vote for the poster of the month.

I think i randomly select numbers from 1-30 and then give the list to james so he knows no cheating can go on, then we tell all players to choose 12 numbers.
You must have 4 numbers for a line, then 8 numbers for 2 lines and then 12 numbers for full house.
Not sure...really - just guessing - lol
Then i call each number out in the sequence i gave james.
and thats the end of that chapter...But, to me all these ideas are great,
But, All the ideas i think arnt really "Features" for the website. But simply, games to enjoy, i think something extra special should be one of our features.

How about TiBB cash, for good posts the "cash" is increased and you can spend it in a TiBB "shop".
Like all the other ideas, I wanted something fun as well and that everyone can be a part of.

Ahhh! i get you, instead of karma ( or aswell as) we could have the "cash" or " Cash Points" and reward that person with them, and the person with the most cash points ) could buy things -but what could they buy?
Just an idea? Or do we need something more fresh - different, exciting -

By 9.00 tonight i want at least 2 final ideas that will make it too the final stage.
I hope that we really pull it off. nd no doubt we will. If we dont then that obviously says something about my managing skills! - lol - as you've won twice before!
I wont be available from 6.20-8.00 due to other commitments, BUT you can U2U me and I will contact you immediately.
Another thing, Be aware i am allways looking for the 2 undeserving people to enter the boardroom. I have to pick the 2 who dont deserve to win.

Tbh, i think its a great idea now, Each week james selects one person to Post their blog or whatever. We would need to know details about how it would run etc.

So its Set, First Idea for a feature for the site is....
Member Blogs.
Every Member has a special section on their profile, which other members can view by clicking on there profile. Which can be accesed though the area on the left (where avatars and personal info. is stored)
People could use it to write about anything the want.

Like if people wanted more than one Avatar, like i could upload two Etc. They could choose between which i wanted.
I'm also looking on google to see what add ons i can find.

I like the Nominations and Awards Idea; but... Again, i think its too big, i think something simple and effective will work.

I do read, i just can't think of any more idea's, i've tried looking on google for forum add on's but i don't get the right forum, like i get php add ons and i was xmb add on's.

Member blogs is a good idea, if I do say so myself.
Maybe modify the member profiles to be a bit like the ones on this forum:

Now then, the second feature will be....? Im stumped for ideas - I want somthing different, Not a game, but a feature, but what is a feature?

Yeah - i think thats a quick easy effective NEW FEATURE that is sure to work. Maybe we could have different colour Backgrounds to our Avatar boxes - Maybe a pattern or colour - that would look good too
I would like some more advanced formatting options, like backgrounds... would make sigs look better!

Okay, tonight youre ideas will be pledged live and James will pick his favourite of the two teams.
It's best if you have two finalised ideas by 5.00pm, then you can expand on these ideas if neccesary.

Team tell me if this sounds ok for our second feature? Any alterations needed can easily be rectified.
2. SHOUTbox
This new and exciting feature could be an excellent addition to the forum and could be just what the site needs to boost the energy and livliness of the site, now Big Brother has left us for another summer.
Below are our proposed indications as to were the SHOUTbox could go.
A. The shoutbox could replace the "Latest Posts" coloum on the right side of the site were the index for all the threads are.
Or
B. A new home. Make space for this at either the bottom of the index page or the top.
All you need to do to leave a "SHOUT" in the SHOUTbox is to Leave your name, E-mail (if preffered) and your message. Simple and effective.
The SHOUTbox will be basically be a place for people to notify anyone publicly or if you would like to post message to the whole forum, instead of starting a new thread, just post it in the SHOUTbox.
Having a SHOUTbox will cut down the number of useless posts that clutter the forum and will be a new way to bring everyone together and make TIBB even better.
That's great! You don't need to capitalise the "hout" though!

I think thats a good idea, the shoutbox is a good idea because news could be displayed which only registered members should see.
It would also be more used than the chatroom because it's on the forum itself...

I think if you sign up for something like this, you do need to put the hours in, i have re-arranged my entrance 3 times before actually coming in on Monday. So that i know i have at least a week free, that im not doing anything.

Hi, thanks for your ideas. I won't be able to choose one tonight because I need to check to see if something is technically possible on the forum before choosing a new feature to add. Also, I'll be away from the computer most of this evening, probably.

Just wanted to say sorry for not being online for a few days, I've been tired and have a busy life at home - I've got a small child who demands my attention and a partner who works long hours and have been stressed out enough about not being online when people want me to, most people in the team have been willing to make allowances for this especially when I've got upset, they've really valued my contribution and I've put myself out to help the rest of the team. I don't think the fact that I've had 2 days offline will go against me considering all that so please don't pick me apart any more, it's bad enough I have to come online just to check and find people are saying bad things about me.

As its my first 3 days been here i dont know what goes off behind the scenes before, and i havnt been informed of any Circumstances that you may have, and you didnt inform me of any. So i have to make assumptions.
But not to worry, We may still Win, no infact, we WILL win.
All desisions have been finalised and we do have 2 final features.

Thanks, I'm fed up with people telling me off for taking things too seriously, if people did that a bit less I would be happier in the game.
Ben, sorry for not letting you know about things sooner and I hope I can get along with you.
I always come on here when I'm online and I try and be on as soon as I can, when I signed up I didn't always realise the pressure I would be under to be online all the time when it's not always possible for me to do so. If people let up on me in that respect as well I think I would enjoy it more.
