I'm very impressed, Spike - I think the idea of the circular door frame (as to speak) is really good and something I'd like to see in BB9. Keep up the good work - I luck forward to seeing what else you have in store.

Gees people can get inspiration from eachother, doesn't mean they're copying and doesn't mean they have to credit.

It's not like anyone was shouting or getting angry; if you take ideas from other people's work without credit, regardless of whether it's a huge piece of art or just a house in Sketchup, people have the right to point it out.

Sarah.
25-09-2007, 08:25 PM
Therefore you are the ones making a 'big deal' out of it because I think he said he didn't copy however they may be similar.

Like i said before I don't see the point in people responding when they don't comment on what they think of the house.

I will credit you or any other person if i am in a good mood which isn't often. If you dont want people to get ideas from your work dont post it.

Sarah.
25-09-2007, 08:32 PM
You don't need to credit anyone...

it's a very stupid 'argument' about door frames.

If people don't have anything nice to post.... then why post?!

dupin
25-09-2007, 08:32 PM
I don't think such a thing should be based on your mood at the time, to be honest. And it's not like I'm asking for much, in fact, I wasn't asking for anything at all, and would have simply left this thread had the two of you not kept going with snide comments.

Someone may post if they don't have something nice to say because they have a point to raise that's aside from acting nicely?

Sarah.
25-09-2007, 08:33 PM

Well my decision will be based on my mood. You are asking for too much and you cant leave this thread alone so your the one making a big deal out of a door frame.

Theres more to life than a door frame on sketch up

dupin
25-09-2007, 08:36 PM
I don't care about the door frame; I made it pretty clear that it was fine with me that you used it when the pictures were first posted. I just don't like how you two seem to think that someone pointing it out was unreasonable and worth your allegedly witty comments.

Well i think its very unreasonable for people who dont comment on this thread normally to tell me that i've got to give other people credit. I will only give people credit if i want to

You're missing the point; you're talking as if the only reason people make houses is so other people can take their ideas. It's about presenting your ideas, not about presenting other peoples that you saw and liked.

I don't think he adapted them; if you compare his front door to Matt's, they're very similar, except Matt's is slightly better done (don't take that as an insult, yours is really good, but Matt is exceptional at Sketchup)

You edited out where i said 'Which is what he did'.

Because you know that for a fact and nothing is identical.

Anyway.. they don't look identical to me and if he says he didnt make them the same then take his word for it.

I edited it out because it wasn't relevant to my opinion. Having seen Dupin's house, they are identical.

Here is Dupin's house if you need proof: http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=71434

Yes it was relevant because it's the truth. :)

Having seen Dupins house also, I don't think it's identical.

Also, like I said before, he said he made them thicker... guess what? maybe he did just that, therefore making them not identical.

Because he does a terrible job of it and it ends up looking almost identical?

I don't understand why you're getting so involved, it's not your house, and it's certainly not your responsibility to talk for Spike.

Note; I'd like to point out for the LAST time that I don't care about the doorframe, it's about how they thought it was unreasonable and how they acted rather petty when someone brought it up.

Yeah. It is terrible when you can't come up with your own ideas so you start copying/imitating poorly other people's work.

We are just going to go round in circles.

Even if it is copied, it's still a lot better than what you come up with.

I know you won't even acknowledge my point but oh well, that's what i think.

I mean in terms of your designs. His 'copied' work is still better than anything that you can come up with.

And that's saying something if you call his work poor.

No rip-off is better than the real thing. If his copied design is good, then the original is better, because he felt the need to copy off it...
