I understand as contestants you have been waiting, but I'm not the type to just ditch a show as I can't be bothered with it.

I'm really trying to carry on with this show, I'm just waiting for James with the results.

So heres how it will work:

As soon as James posts the results, the newbie, either Ann or Ben who is on the losing team, will be fired from the show.

As well as that a normal firing will take place.

Okay the ideas for the site that the teams came up with were...

Taskjackers...


1. Member blogs

Every Member has a special section on their profile, which other members can view by clicking on there profile. Which can be accesed though the area on the left (where avatars and personal info. is stored)

People could use it to write about anything the want.


2. SHOUTbox

This new and exciting feature could be an excellent addition to the forum and could be just what the site needs to boost the energy and livliness of the site, now Big Brother has left us for another summer.

Below are our proposed indications as to were the SHOUTbox could go.

A. The shoutbox could replace the "Latest Posts" coloum on the right side of the site were the index for all the threads are.

Or

B. A new home. Make space for this at either the bottom of the index page or the top.

All you need to do to leave a "SHOUT" in the SHOUTbox is to Leave your name, E-mail (if preffered) and your message. Simple and effective.

The SHOUTbox will be basically be a place for people to notify anyone publicly or if you would like to post message to the whole forum, instead of starting a new thread, just post it in the SHOUTbox.

Having a SHOUTbox will cut down the number of useless posts that clutter the forum and will be a new way to bring everyone together and make TIBB even better.

Ideas for Team Extreme

Presentation - 1st idea. "Meet the members"

The idea is that you have a small section at the top of the page, to the right of the logo, which shows a random members avatar. It also has details of the members name, their generic symbol, the date they joined, and their location. The random member selected will change every time the page is changed or refreshed. This is a good way for new members to see other members who possibly may not be online. Should be relatively easy to set up.



Presentation - 2nd idea. "Icon Legend"

Although the site has some features presently, like symbols for a sticky thread, we think it is a difficult and outdated one. We suggest re-vamping this with colour coding, and an "Icon Legend" added to explain the colour codes to members on the main page at the bottom centre. This should make it a lot more user friendly. So for instance, if you were looking at the sections on the main page, the Big Brother 3 section could show as yellow, which means there are unread posts in that section that the member has not seen. Once entering that section, threads can be shown in different colours. I.E. a thread could show up as red, "red hot thread", to show it is a popular one where members post a lot, and could be a good way for a new member to get to know other members. This should also be relatively quick and easy to install.

Example:

Yellow - New post

Pink - Hot thread

Green - Sticky thread

Blue - Old post

Red - Red hot thread

Purple - Locked thread

Okay, all four ideas are good and they might be added to the site at some stage. The idea I like best and would help the members the most I think is Member Blogs.

The only proviso about adding that is that their is no ready made, easy to implement solution to integrate a blog system with the forum user base.

But we have talked about adding blogs before on TiBB so I will try to add that to the forum. Even if it is not possible my second choice would be the shoutbox so the Taskjackers are the winners.

Sorry Ann and Callum. It's my fault. I should have been fired. One of the reasons I deterred you from using the shoutbox idea was because of the possibility of abusive posts. I would be interested to hear James' views on how he would plan to moderate this.
