Was the target just a decoy?

I'm begining to wonder if the target on the floor this year was just a decoy, used for extra rumours to circulate.

Extra rumours = Extra publicity = Extra ratings.

It could have been part of an early production idea to get rid of a housemate that simply didn't they use after they lost Emily and Lesley so early on in the show.

I think that the target may of had a purpose, maybe in punishment, but the producers axed it.

i dont agree that it was a publicity stunt...because the only people that actually cared or took note are proper fans like on our forum...and wer alrady into the show so ratings wouldnt really increase!

they didnt use it because Jonathan and carole noticed a hatch in the roof directly below the target.

the hatch was where the attic was supposed to be!

They never used it because the hatch didn't work when they were planning on dumping goo on whoever was stood on the target.
Nobody at the time knew about it.
