Looks or personality?

When your loomking for a new girlfriend/boyfriend do you look for looks or personality?

I like a nice balance of both...
In my experience ive found that people who are VERY good looking, usually tend to have bad personalities.

Just a nice girl with a nice personality is good enough for me.
Im afraid im shallow enough to not date people who I don't find attractive though, no matter how much we get on and how good their personality is.

But I have to say, I did talk to my girlfriend becayse she was good-looking and awesome.
After that, I discovered a beautiful girl, who made me completely crazy of her, she's so, I don't know how to say, I just love her. :lovedup:

I totally agree, and all the ugly people have the best personalities. My last girlfriend was good looking and had a great personality.

Both, definitely. Looks give me a good first impression but then if the person hasn’t got a personality to match, I rapidly lose interest. And at the end of the day, what you define as very good looking tends to differ between people – so as long as I like the guy that’s all that counts. But I am quite possibly one of the pickiest people ever…

both because its normally looks that make you look first but personality depends normally on whether you're interested or not because you dont want someone goodlooking but completley mean and a pyscho

I think personality is what makes me fall for a lady, looks are purely superficial. a nice smile and sparkly eyes are guaranteed to snare me first though.

Most ppl say personality but the sad truth is that the majority of ppl go for looks. lets face it if u see somone you dont like the look of your hardly gonna make the effort to talk to them.

I think of it like this. Looks don't matter as much only in the sense that if you want to be with this person forever, they are not going to be 'beautiful' all the time, however a persons personality will remain the same, in a sense as time goes on.
All in all, I'm not fussed about looks because whats important to me is personality, the ability to make me laugh, and to have fun. Thats what it's all about.

Human nature dictates that we are initially attracted to someone because of the way they look, however you might find someone drop dead gorgeous and then when they open their gob you just want to run a mile.

I firstly look at a girl and see her face and if I am attracted to that, then I shall proceed to a conversation and from that I then get to find out about her personality. I mean, who approaches an ugly girl, but an ugly boy? the same thing applies to the reverse. It is a cruel world where looks are concerned and I am as guilty as the next person on that.

It goes looks, then personality, for almost everybody. But having said that, looks fade, I'd much prefer someone who can make me laugh, and makes me feel protective of them, than somebody who just looks good to the eye. Plus, if you only go for people who look nice, the chances are that many other people have the same idea as you - you've got less chance of getting anywhere. And people who look good are normally really arrogant, because they know it. Oh and no thank you, loud mouths. Somebody quiet but funny, that's what I'm into. =]

I completely agree. Looks first, then personality. I met my girlfriend in a cinema funny enough, I was with some friends and we were queuing up to see Harry Potters second movie and the queue was massive. One of my friends is indeed a loud-mouth and was chatting with a girl in the queue, but she was eyeing me up and smiled at me, from that I proceeded to converse with her and we exchanged phone numbers and e-mails and we are now a very happy couple and her personalilty matches her good looks. If the girl had been quite ugly, I wouldn't have been interested. I know that doesn't sound too nice, but I guess it is just the way for some people and I am one of them.
