Are you all up to having a new game ? I hope you haven't already done it to death before, but I can't see it in the previous pages.

Choose from the two options you're given. Which do you prefer ? And tell us why. Then give us two new options. Got it ? Easy !!

Oh...ok, I'll go first.

Inside or Outside ??

Romantic Old Bird
04-10-2003, 10:18 AM
Inside I think, because it's warm and cosy........

mmmmmmm, outside is good too, but today is a bit fresh, so I'll stick with inside!

OK. let me lower the tone.....

Sex or Food?

Sticks
04-10-2003, 10:26 AM
OK Food
Less complicated
Must dash my pork and garlic sausages are ready

To raise the tone a bit

Johan Strauss or George Fredrick Handel

Romantic Old Bird
04-10-2003, 12:04 PM
mm, well, to be pedantic Sticks, Strauss has the advantage, because there were more than one of them. Which one do you mean?

Also they are so different. I mean, I love the Messiah because I have sung in it so often, but lets face it, he's a bit glum overall.

I think I'll go for Strauss. JS I was from humble origins, unlike Handel. JS II was a pop star of his time and his music is jolly and encouraged people to clasp each other in popular dance to the strains of the Blue (well, it's murky brown really) Danube and suchlike. I'm all for a bit of clasping myself, so.........

Johann Strauss II for me please.

OK now, let me think and let's go a little more low-brow.....

Jade or Helen?

:conf:

Boris
04-10-2003, 05:56 PM
Very Little Effort required here Rob.

Helen

Helen was and is a 'sweetie ' and a 'poppet' whereas Jade......do I have to say ANYTHING ?

Boris
04-10-2003, 05:59 PM
Spending money or saving it !!!

( I nearly fogot to put up this choice at all, probably because i have just been out SHOPPING yet again....I really must stop !)

:spin:

rachb
04-10-2003, 06:07 PM
Well I think this is a tough one,I would say both.

if its someone elses money then I would say spending it if its my own then saving it:hugesmile:

LEE
04-10-2003, 07:00 PM

Fame Academy or Pop Idol

Boris
04-10-2003, 08:48 PM
Fame Academy...never having watched 'tother one !!!

:dazzler::dazzler::dazzler:

LEE
04-10-2003, 08:49 PM
So whats the next choices then Boris?

Boris
04-10-2003, 08:51 PM
Oooops ! Forgot again.......

UUuuummmmm...

eating out

eating in

(with company in both cases )

kaphc
04-10-2003, 10:19 PM
Eating out - as I don't get the chance to do it very often now - babysitters needed etc. etc.

Manchester United or Arsenal

James
05-10-2003, 01:31 AM
I prefer to watch Arsenal. I think they have more cosmopolitan flair than Man U, and also are less predictable to be winners as United.

To answer the previous one - Fame Academy or Pop Idol - Pop Idol. I find it more entertaining for some reason, and also bigger 'event' television. I thought the final of Fame Academy was quite low-key, especially compared to last year's.

Next 'This or That':
Mac or PC

Sticks
05-10-2003, 07:25 AM
PC
There is more software available than for a mac

PC's are the industry standard now, so mucgh so that macs have a PC emulator. Now you do not see a mac emulator on a PC. (Well I have not)

OK

Theory X or Theory Y

kaphc
05-10-2003, 09:44 AM
Theory X - I can prove that one's true! :hugesmile::hugesmile:

And next ......

Sticks or Stones

LEE
05-10-2003, 10:47 AM
Sticks - I mean what would this forum be without him

I've never thought much of Mick Jagger anyway

Sticks - I mean what would this forum be without him ....I've never thought much of Mick Jagger anyway .

You deserve a prize for that answer LEE....best one on 'this or that' so far...WELL DONE !!!!!

Now

'hot or cold?'

It depends on the context doesn't it!

If we are talking hot or cold'weather'. I prefer sizzling hot holidays than cold ones. But....if it is 'Food' well I like both.

Let's go for a 'hot or cold date'

Hot every time I think !!!!!!!!:blush

Travelling...

Air or Sea ?????

kaphc
05-10-2003, 02:24 PM
Sea

Especially on a luxury cruise ship where the pace is slow, rather than being packed in like cattle to a charter flight.

And so next is:

Ant or Dec

Sticks
05-10-2003, 03:15 PM
Dec

They were quite good mainframe computers in their day. In my first year of my first degree I got to play on a Dec 20

Ah happy days

Now for this one

Camille Saint Siens or Wolfgang Ammodeus Motzart

kaphc
06-10-2003, 09:27 AM

Do you mean Saint-Saens and Mozart Sticks?

Well.. I'd always pick the opposite of Mozart - the musical is too clinical for my liking. Saint-Saens organ concerto is a really good piece of music!

:dance::dazzler::dance:

Next ..... Dice or Cards?

Mervi
06-10-2003, 01:00 PM
This is a difficult one...

but I'd say dice because it's nice to throw it around whereas cards get sweaty and dirty when they go around the table...

The next one:

Up or Down?

Skip
06-10-2003, 05:29 PM
UP definately....I hate being down. Lifes too short.....and it's almost summer again !!! So, it's Up, Up, Up for me. hehehehe....sorry.

BigSister
06-10-2003, 07:08 PM

Legally blonde
06-10-2003, 09:26 PM
Blue, because it's calming.

Pen or pencil?

BTW love this game :bouncy:

Sticks
06-10-2003, 10:15 PM
Pencil, as it is easier to rub out any mistaks

Now this one

Mendleson or Brahms

kaphc
07-10-2003, 09:24 AM
That's a hard one.

I think I will have to go with Brahms, not Mendelssohn. I used to play more Brahms when I was having piano lessons.

Next one .......

Wave or wink?

BigSister
07-10-2003, 05:31 PM
Wave:wavey:because I like waving lol
Next
Newspaper or News (TV)

Sticks
07-10-2003, 06:49 PM
Newspaper because they give you the small stories that are not covered by the electronic media.

Which is why I buy the Daily Mail

meanwhile

Cirrus

http://ds.dial.pipex.com/justdesign/atmo/stock/a7.jpg
or
alto Cumulus

http://ds.dial.pipex.com/justdesign/atmo/stock/a8.jpg

Boris
07-10-2003, 09:26 PM
Nice one Sticks....Cirrus because it leads you aloft whereas the 'other' is a barrier to trap you below.

( I like this game too )

History or Geography

BigSister
07-10-2003, 09:31 PM
History because I learnt it at school
Next
English or Maths

kaphc
08-10-2003, 09:41 AM

Autumn

Because it is time for harvest

Benjamin Britain or Ludvig Van Bethoven

LEE
08-10-2003, 04:50 PM
I presume you mean Benjamin Britten Sticks.

I've never been much of a Beethoven fan I'm afraid much of his music is a bit pompous for my liking. I studied quite a lot of Britten as part of my music degree and have actually done some chorus work in Peter Grimes, so my answer is definitely Britten.

Guitar or Piano

Skip
08-10-2003, 05:24 PM
PIANO, as with Elton John. I won't name every wonderful song he has ever played piano on, but my most favourite is "Someone saved my life tonight."

On the same sort of subject.

SLEEP TALKING or SLEEP WALKING

kaphc
08-10-2003, 09:28 PM
Sleep walking - apparently I sleep talk, so I can't choose that can I???

Heaven or Hell?

Boris
08-10-2003, 10:14 PM
Hmmmm....kaphc...this is not really an option!

I think you have to decide where you will be 'sent' not where you would choose to go.

Maybe 'life' is heaven on earth - for some anyway. For others it is hell on earth !

I suppose I would prefer 'heaven' not having masachistic tendancies !

Boots or shoes ....

http://www.charterhousefactoryshop.co.uk/footwear.jpg

kaphc
09-10-2003, 09:24 AM
OK, OK I take your point Boris!

On your choice, I will go for Boots as they are nice and warm to wear in this weather.

Let's have an easlier option next ...

On that subject........

Henry V film:

Olivier or Brannagh?

Boris
10-10-2003, 09:02 PM
Olivier seems a bit 'stilted' these days so I go for 'Brannagh' although I am not generally a great fan of his.

Theatre or Cinema

kaphc
10-10-2003, 09:31 PM
That's quite hard to decide as I like both.

I think on balance I'd have to go for the theatre - nothing beats a live performance, where anything could go wrong.

In honour of the Rugby World Cup ......

Scrum or Kicker

Janette
10-10-2003, 10:41 PM
Ooh I do like a nice scrum!!!!!

Rain or Snow

Sticks
20-10-2003, 05:44 PM
Rain, because after its over its over and it does not hang around for weeks and people do not through rain balls at you and you do not have to gawp at rude creations of rain men

OK

Feudal Undemocratic Monarchy based on accident of birth or a Decocratically elected presidency (along the lines of that of the Irish Republic)

Boris
20-10-2003, 05:49 PM
Well....when i think about the USA and the presidents they have had of late I think I would prefer to stick with 'our' method. They really have no power of their own and are able to curb the extreme instincts of others. A way to avoid a 'power merchant' from having his/her own way !

Seaside holidays or countryside holidays

James
21-10-2003, 10:24 PM

As for Enterprise....

BUNGALOW

Gloves or mittens

bananarama
24-10-2003, 05:55 PM

However......

Highland Spring Volvic is a bit bland...that's the name of my Doctor...Bland !

Which leads me to......

Doctors or Nurses

Boris
24-10-2003, 09:17 PM

Anyway has got to be Nurse (can you imagine what ROB would say or do if we said anything else LOL)

OOOhhhh....it doesn;t bear thinking about Busy bee !

My answer is GAS...though I have electric at the moment.

If ever you have time I'll tell you the long and SAD tale of how my brand new EXPENSIVE fitted STOVES gas gear failed on Christmas eve after STOVES failed to come and look at it although it was not working correctly 3 weeks before the festive season. I was left with NO cooking fascilities for 3 weeks and then had it all removed.I demanded compensation from STOVES but did not of course get it although eventually with the help of the local consurer advice centre they did pay for the new stuff to be refitted. I had to have electric because i could find no gas equipment that fitted the holes left by the STOVES faulty stuff.Found out 6 onths later that my niece had had the same trouble with her STOVES equipment abd it too 2 years to sort out by being replaced with a new one. REMEMber that name ....STOVES !

But of course I will only tell you if you have time to spare !

Long explanations or short ones :laugh::laugh:

BusyBee
24-10-2003, 09:54 PM

Vincent Van Gough or Micheal Angello

Romantic Old Bird
25-10-2003, 05:26 PM
Vincent van Gogh or Michelangelo I think we mean don't we Sticks?

This is ssoooooo difficult because I love them both and they are very different.
Michelangelo was a genius. Everything, his sculptures, his paintings, stunning. I actually wept when I saw them in Florence because they were so beautiful it HURT.

Vincent van Gogh was I believe manic depressive or possibly shcizophrenic. He was totally tortured poor man, and driven with a passion that bounces off the canvas. I love the boldness, the texture and the richness. Seeing his work makes me hurt for him. Unlike Michelangelo, he didn't work to commision, he just HAD to paint, even though he was tortured by what he saw as his lack of ability.

All of which is my long-winded way of saying, if I must choose between them:
