Sorry can't help with the braces.
But I can help you improve your posting style by reminding you that posting with the caps lock key stuck on isn't allowed on TiBB. That rule applies to thread titles and the body of your posts.

Would you rather have braces for a few years or have horrid jagged teeth? Just be pleased you have the option of braces.

I had "train track" braces when I was 14, before that I had removable braces as they needed to force my jaw to grow, I also had this head gear to wear at night. After a year they came off and I had a rest before my fixed (train track) brace was on for 2 years. Then at 15 I got "retainers" and wore them for a year, by the time I had left school I had lovely teeth to be proud of.
I remember regular trips to the orthodontist and having painful things done sometimes, some of the kids at school used to bully me and say things like "Jaws" and "Say sixty-fifths" to me, but I learned to rise above it all, given that there were other more pressing things that affected me, having a brace was nothing compared to all that.

I had mine on about 6 months ago now and im used to it, it takes about 2 weeks before you can actually fully bite properly without it hurting but i have chewing gum and stuff and when you have them tightened it only hurts for a day because its not as bad as when you first had them on. You'll get used to them

Do your braces somehow hinder your capacity to communicate like a normal human being?

Presumably because they're really trendy yeah?
Luckily my teeth are fine and I've never had to wear them.

My daughter has had them for coming up to 3 years now, hopefully they will come off by Summer next year.
The only time they are a problem is when they are tightened and then she gets some discomfort, I try to make sure I have a nice pot of angel delight in the fridge for them times as she finds eating hard work for the first day.
What specifically do you think you need advice about?

I had train tracks and then a retainer that I had to tighten myself about once a week. The train tracks were a walk in the park compared to the self tightening one. But that was 20+ years ago. There will be some discomfort but you will get used to it. It will be worth it in the long run.
