View Full Version : A radically different house…, aka Geoking66's futuristic BB9 house

I admit it, I'm a compulsive house designer. But this time I want to do something different. Different isn't an apt term; radical best suits what I want to create. I need an opinion, so I'd like everyone here's views.

You are a compulsive house designer

Out the list above futuristic sounds best. I could be wrong though.

I look forward to seeing your forthcoming house!

Can't wait, but could you use more tastful, light colours this time? Please don't take it as an offence, but it would be nice to see you design a nice glassy, sleek house.

Although, it does set youre house apart from the rest (in a good way)

Apart from that can't wait, please post soon!!

geoking66

I'm taking all of this into consideration. Yes, I'm going to use lighter hues or red and green with a splash of pink and light blue.

geoking66

In keeping with the futuristic theme, here is the entrance. More viewpoints will become available. In order to keep suspense, I'll have longer breaks between image releases in order to encourage discussion and add some tension.

The entrance is made of clear plastic. Davina's podium is an abstract mis-mash of clear and curvy cubes. A very straight path through the crowd awaits the housemates and some small TV monitors give a more "technologic" theme.

The entrance corridor is almost purely white, with a fingerprint required to enter the Big Brother house (this is a futuristic styled idea).

Being futuristic, it's supposed to be white, the walls on either side are of a magnesium colour (well that's its name in OS X).

This year's lounge chair is slightly out of the ordinary. It is comprised of transparent cubes that interconnect to keep in line with the minimalist, abstract, and futuristic themes employed in this house.

Lower the opacy/transparency level to about 50-75 per cent in the colour palette (I'm in OS X, I don't know how it works on XP or Vista).

geoking66

Here's a different angle, looking towards the garden. The tint of the doors is darker so as to allow less UV light into the house, in keeping with the futuristic theme. If you look closely, you can see something odd developing in the garden.

Plenty of space for anothe house, isn't there? Can I just ask what the yellow stair things are in the bedroom? :spin2:

geoking66
07-10-2007, 05:52 PM
Conor, I usually make camera run that actually works (and for this house I'll post some images of it); since the bedroom is at a higher elevation, those stairs are from the fire exit and down to the camera run. They're painted yellow so as to be seen in an otherwise pitch-black area becuse the mirrors don't give enough light.

From this view of the bedroom, you can not only see the front door but also the top of the house and a bit of the interview stage.

Overall I like it.

17-10-2007, 01:16 AM
This is the kitchen. Instead of having a table, the housemates will have to eat on the rug laid out for them. What do you think that A and B represent on the wall? Just another question that you'll have to figure out, and soon you'll find out where those stairs lead.

Do you have to use the little thing in the entrance to unlock it, at the bottom of the normal stair case to the main living area?

geoking66
19-10-2007, 10:02 PM
Here's a hint: A and B have something to do with the locked room.

Noel
20-10-2007, 01:35 PM
Are A and B like buttons? And you press one and the door opens, but if you press the other it locks?

My lounge idea is basically the same as yours.

And i luv the idea of the fingerprints on the door.

One twist could be that someone's doesnt work and they find out that they havent got into the bb house so they have to leave or they could go to a secret room as the housemates wudnt expect that on the first day.

Ooo! Is that the room which leads from the grassy stairs?

geoking66
21-10-2007, 06:20 PM
The twist is as follows:

On Day 1, twelve housemates will enter the main house.

On Day 29, five new housemates will go into the secret house. Now here's where the twist takes place. On Day 31, whenever someone enters the kitchen, either A or B will light up green. If a housemates opens either the A or B hatch, there is a key inside. That housemate must figure out that the key opens the lock on the door on the bottom of the stairs. However, the room that they will enter is not a good thing. The person who enters this room is Big Brother's Experiment.

The Experiment will enter the laboratory (the most recent picture) and at Big Brother's discretion must act as a specimen for anything that Big Brother would like to do to them. More unlucky twists for the housemates in the secret house are in store (a hint, none are evicted until at least Day 43).

Matt
