In recent days I have heard the word Monster banded around this forum.

Well I once heard that the etymological derivation of the word Monster meant a child that is born deformed. Hence I try not to use it because of it's derivation. If talking about large creatures I will use the name of the creature.

If anyone can confirm or refute this etymological derivation, with evidence, please let us know. In the mean time can we stop using this, given what it really meant in ancient times.

I have looked at wikki and there is no reference to this meaning - but that may only mean that this is a very obscure reference.
