More4 to air classic BB

Digital channel More4 and on-demand service 4oD are to show popular programmes from Channel 4's 25 year archive.

From Sunday September 30 until November 2, More4 will be airing classic episodes of Brookside, Comic Strip, Father Ted, Queer As Folk, Dispatches, Big Brother and Friends, as well as documentary and films produced by the network.

Channel 4’s video-on-demand service will be offering further content, in some cases whole series, from today until November 18. Registered users can download can stream or download the specially selected content for free via the 4oD PC platform.

Cosmo Lush, head of product management at Channel 4 said: "It’s only right that More4 and 4oD should celebrate 25 years of Channel 4 in a modern, innovative way entirely befitting of the multiplatform landscape of today. We have opened up our archive for this limited period to celebrate these fantastic shows but it’s totally up to you when and how you watch it."

I don't see how they'll feature every sngle episode in one month, unfortunately. :sad: They'll probably just pick one series and show all of those episodes.

I don't see why they're repeating Friends on More4... they constantly repeat it on E4 anyway! :tongue:

Hopefully they'll be classic episodes like the first ever episode, rich/poor divide BB3, fight night BB5, jaquzzi orgy BB6 etc.

This is good, probably won't be able to show all the series though. They may just pick certain key moments from each series.

Yea, thats what I suspect too. They'll probably show like the key episodes of each series e.g Nasty Nick, Fight Night.

Having rooted through a few press releases, I found an image of the BB1 housemates titled "CHANNEL 4 25TH ANNIVERSARY: Big Brother series 1". I think BB1 is the series they will be repeating...

Don't think anyones certain, although its most likely going to BB1 in full. When you think about it, what other series would actually be aprropriate?

To be honest a bit of BB5 - 7 would be very appropriate. They are said to be the tree best series to date, but it is understandable to show series 1 as it is the shortest and the most 'classic' seires in a sense,

Waht I meant was that as you said its the most classic and since Big Brother One started a new type of channel 4 and this is a celebration of CH4 over the years, it would really be the only one appropriate. BB5-7 are too new to be honest.

Having seen advanced listings, there is nothing happening within the next two weeks - not on More4 anyway. It's subject to change though - I'll keep you posted.

BB1 is probably the series they will repeat.
