View Full Version : Dupin's Big Brother 9 (Houseplan up!)

I have redone my house for the final time, fitting it into the actual shape of the Big Brother house. I am very happy with how it is turned out, so I've waited until I've finished the entire thing before posting anything. I completed it earlier, so over the next week or so I'll be posting the pictures of each area of the house and explaining some of the aspects of it.

Here are five promo pictures to start with!

The Entrance

http://img128.imageshack.us/img128/4446/house7pn0.png

The entrance to the house is different from the Big Brother 8 - housemates take the long walk as usual to the stage, which this time, is simply flashing yellow, of course. But once they arrive at the top, they take a short few more steps up to the colourful front doors of the Big Brother House.

Davina as usual, will present the eviction shows live from the yellow stage, and will walk up a few steps to talk to the house, like in Big Brother 8.

The Stairway

Note; I had real trouble with the stairway, and so it does not look as good as the other parts of the house. Some of the lines and walls are sketchy, and I apologize for this, but promise that the rest of the house looks a lot better

When the housemates first enter the house, they will be faced with the nauseating brightness of the pink staircase - it is the same as previous staircases in terms of shape and design; the only difference is in the eccentric and headache-inducing decoration.

On the door, there is a kind message reading "Welcome to the Big Brother House", which housemates will see as they enter, as behind the door is the house itself, for there is no vestibule or anything similar for my Big Brother 9.

The Living Area

1 2 3

http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/8241/house12xs0.png

This is the area that you enter when you come through the door of the stairs - the bright pink turns to yellow, as this is the colour of the walls and floor of this area. Most parts of the house can been seen by the living area, and on one side, there is a sloping wall with a jagged pattern. There are four doors; one leads to a toilet, one to the diary room, and two to nowhere...or so it would seem.

How weird is that, we posted our threads within minutes of each other a few days back, we both have a pink entrance and we both have the same bumpy wall efect. Freaky! Weldone, looking great!

The kitchen also has that effect, to a lesser extent, but with the same colours as your kitchen!

The Kitchen

1 2 3 4 5 6

http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/827/house15vl1.png

The kitchen is what you arrive at when you walk past the yellow area - it is in the top right of the main square of the house (the yellow area being bottom right, dining area bottom left, and lounge top left). The kitchen uses turquoise, white and black and is difficult to get around - there is a counter which runs across from wall to wall, but a section of it can be lifted over like a gate to pass through. On one side of the counter is the storage, with drawers and shelves for all the cutlery and crockery. Also on the counter is the chopping board.

On one wall is the oven and fridge, which are surrounded by various shades of turquiouse sticking out of the wall, with three circuler storage compartments in between, and on the other side of the kitchen is the sink, the drying rack, and the storeroom. Not only that, but there is also a counter and two block high stools to sit on, as there are not quite enough places round the dining table for all the housemates. The garden is the only place where you can access the garden from, and nearby, there is also a hedge that runs from floor to cieling that is fairly inconveinient.

The Lounge

1 2 3 4 5
http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/7724/house21qe3.png

The lounge is located in the top left of the main house area. It is orange, and slightly secluded compared to the rest of the house. It is made up of curved, soft white sofas forming a circle, and a blank white table in the centre. There is a plasma screen, and one wall has a huge window showing the garden, although the garden cannot be accessed by the lounge.

The Dining Area

1 2 3 4
http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/7044/house26uh9.png

The dining room is the bottom left of the main area of the house, and has a purple and white theme, with a block purple/white table, and block benches of the same colour. The dining table is right by the bedroom and bathroom, and glass walls mean that all is visible, and so if one of the older, larger housemates (like Carole) is showering, you get the best veiw from the dining table, whilst you're eating.

The Bedroom

1 2 3 4 5 6
http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/6595/house30en0.png

The bedroom incorperates white and two shades of blue, with a cream carpet and three beds. There are two single beds, and one bed that curves round a curved wall. This bed takes around 10 people, but there will not be space for all the housemates, resorting one of them to sleep in the mysterious last bed. In the middle of the room there is a storage/table thing, and there are shelves in the walls, and in the beds. There is a glass wall seperating the bedroom from the dining area, and the bedroom is the only place where the bathroom can be accessed from.

The Bathroom

1 2 3 4
http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/6369/house36hl4.png

The bathroom is accessible from the bedroom, but can be seen clearly from the dining area. It is green and white and has a very un-private shower. What housemates won't know originally is that when the shower is turned on, it won't just release water in the shower itself, but also in the smoking area in the garden. This means that if any housemate is about to take a shower, it might be best to warn any housemates who are busy smoking first...There is also a side counter, and a bench - one of the main features of the bathroom is a small "pool" which one housemate at a time can stand in, for a quick wash. There are a list of rules on the wall to remind housemates what is acceptable when using the Quick Pool.

The Garden

1 2 3 4 5 6
http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/8239/house42hg1.png

The garden is much larger than the BB8 one, and is accessible from the kitchen. The garden has a boardwalk that goes three quarters of the way round - along the boardwalk is the pool, the unlucky bed, the Happy House, and the smoking area. There is a large area in the garden where tasks will be set up. The Happy House is just cushioned inside, so I won't be posting pictures of it. The garden contains a lot of secrets, which will be discoverd throughout the series.

The garden is the last collection of pictures for my BB9 house. However, this is not the end of my BB9 project; keep reading for the Eye press pack soon, and eventually there will be a week-by-week plan, hopefully some graphics, and also a houseplan.

Also, let me know if there are any specific shots/pictures you'd like to see in case you didn't really see something clearly. (:

Ruth*Star
24-10-2007, 09:04 AM
Are those secret rooms, the ones in white?

dupin
24-10-2007, 03:08 PM
No, the one by the kitchen is the store room, the small one in the yellow area is a toilet, and the other one is the diary room.

I'm working on a diary room, but I'm not very good at them so it'll be a while before it's up.

All secret rooms are currently missing from the houseplan.
