From today's Ananova:

'The Hamiltons' feature in McGowan's new series of Big Impression

Alistair McGowan and Ronni Ancona are to unveil a new roster of impersonations in a new series of Big Impression this month.

Ruby Wax, Louis Theroux, and Phoebe and Ross from Friends all make appearances in the new series,

The duo will also mimic Neil and Christine Hamilton in a sketch in which the pair try to live without each other for 24 hours.

Returning impressions include Richard and Judy, Big Brother lovebirds Helen and Paul, and Posh and Becks.

Alistair McGowan's Big Impression returns to BBC on Friday, April 19.

The Hamiltons, eh! That should be interesting!

And 'Paul and Helen' are to return as well! Let's hope Ronni has been practicing her Helen impersonation, which I thought was quite poor in the Xmas special. Alistair was quite good as Paul, though! Wicked!

Neil and Christine will be very interesting. P&H as Christmas was good, but flawed by crap Helen accent and them still being in the den. Nothing could compete with real den action, but hopefully now we'll get to see them in a fictional real world.

If it's half as good as Posh and Becks they are on to a winner. They would do well to check out ROB's little world for some ideas.

Only reservation, Paul has to go into work the next day! :spin:

Hopefully they've had plenty of time to hone up their take on Paul and Helen. I, personally, thought the last one was pretty crappy. Didn't think either of them caught the essence of our P & H - Alistair saying "cool" a lot and Ronnie wearing a blonde wig didn't, IMHO make a very good impression.

I look forward to seeing this year's model!

Just a reminder that this is on tonight, folks - 8.30 p.m., BBC1.

I hope Ronni's been working on her Helen impression, and that they can achieve a happy medium between being funny without being too cruel. :nono:

sorry Kaz but it looks like they're going to be damn right cruel. No mention of them in the tv listings for today but next week in Tv Quick it says that there will be a sketch called how can you live without.......your brain? Looks like they are going to have a field day with P&H because generally BB stars whether we like it or not are subjected to ridicule:devil::nono::bawling::devil:

But chilledbootz, that's always how Alistair McGowan's humour works, not just with BB stars. He's just as cruel with Posh and Becks.

Yeah but I still think he does Posh & Becks in a nice way and he says he likes them. If you remember in Heat magazine he said he didn't like H&P. Added to the that the fact that most people i speak to didn't like H&P either and I think it gives AM & RA licence to let rip. I sincerely hope i'm wrong but who knows!!!:conf:

Well i watched and thought it was brilliant. They do seem to spend a bit too long on the sketches though but I think the script was funnier this time round. I loved his Louis Theroux and Ruby Wax, but as for trying to look like my lovely Mr Beckham...........dream on Alastair!!!!!!!!:sleep:

I really enjoyed this, probably because there was no Paul & Helen Sketch!!

I thought the Neil & Christine sketch was very funny, and Alistair's impression of Jonathan Ross was uncanny!

However, after what chilledbootz has said, I might not be laughing so much at next week's show if P&H are on it. It does sound like he's going to be rather cruel about them. Hasn't he read 'Hello' recently to see how they've moved on from BB2?

A sketch along the lines of our own dear ROB's story about P&H in Paris would be worth watching now, wouldn't it! :hello:  :hello:

This was a good show - I will always laugh at his Richard impression (richard/judy) It is so much like him, he has him to a t!! The Hamilttons was good too - 'I cant swtich on the light!!'
Even though they are cruel with H&P, I cant help laugh and to be perfectly honest, I think probably Paul and Helen do too!!:joker::laugh:

Yeah it was a great show!! I thought Alistair McGowan was spot on with some of his impersenations - especially Jonathan Woss and Richard Madeley.

:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

I didn't think Ronni Ancona was that good in last night's show - her "Judy" seemed a bit far off the mark and some of her other impressions weren't quite there either.

Still, I'm sure there's a lot of mileage in the show yet! :wavey:

Just a quick reminder that this is on again tonight, folks - and I think that 'P&H' will be featuring this week.

As ROB posted on the 'Helen on Lorraine' thread, Helen has said that she and Paul find the impression of them very funny. Let's hope that we think the same. :spin2:
