View Full Version : If there was general election tomorrow....
Forgetting the age restrictions on being able to vote for one moment, if there was a general election tomorrow and you had to vote for one party, who would it be and why?
Conservatives for the vote on the EU Referendum.

Although I think David Cameron is a ponce, and I want rid of him ASAP - Conservatives.
Down here it's very close between the Lib Dems and Tories... and Labour has no chance, so the Tories are the lesser of the two evils.

Liberal Democrats, maybe RESPECT, but I'm quite hesistant on that. I really don't think that there is such a thing as a good politician anymore, if there ever was such a thing. I would never in my life vote for the Conservatives.
I think that a lot of people are pissed off at the European Union right now, but I think that in the long run, it's better off to be in it. The EU is the strongest economy in world and is continually growing. It's actually possible for the UK to keep the pound sterling but still use the Euro, all that needs to be done is to accept them at the same rate, such as say something is £3.50 so that it's either £3.50 or €3.50, preferably €3.50 because it's less expensive.

Same as in France, for Nicolas Sarkozy so the Right (or Conservative in Britain) Party.

Is it a good idea to discuss politics as these discussions can get heated. One forum I am a member of has a ban on such discussions.

Sorry sticks but the whole point of politics is that it needs to be discussed.

What is annoying about the EU Treaty is that our government won't even give us a vote on it. If the British people wanted to pass the treaty, then that's fine by me, but it's annoying that we won't even be given the vote that we were promised.

Conservatives probably?
I have got tired of the Labour government - I think most of us have and perhaps David Cameron can do better than John Major and his predecessors did.

Why should subject matter be cencored out because it is controversial. Controversial subjects should be discussed as much as possible. That is the only way we can learn about and from each other.
If it all gets overheated and personal I am sure the moderators are perfectly capable of stepping in to bring order and respect.........

All sitting Governments are a danger to themselves as they become arrogant with power. Sadly people tend to change Governments because the present one is seemed to be failing rather than an alternative Government being able to succeed.
Young voters will have no real memory of Tory rule. As a result Labour will be replaced sooner or later....It's sad to think young Tory enthusiasts will have to learn the hard way what the Tories are really like. Labour is bad Tory rule would once again degenerate into a living nightmare.......

But it won't matter as Parliament will become just like a parish council due to European harmonisation.
Maybe I should go with UKIP, so we do not sleep walk into a federal Europe

If you want your health care to go away, fine with me, because that's what the Conservatives want. Look at the US, the health care there is on average crap and the government spends way too much money on it in relation to how it should be. In no way should someone's health be in the hands of a monopolistic company. I say keep the pound sterling, not out of tradition, but because it's so strong in the economy.

Conservatives always use Europe as an entity to frighten voters. In reality we should fear the conservatives far far more than Europe...
If you want millions unemployed and further millions in fear of unemployment and persistant high interest rates then vote conservative and deserve all you get.....

You're wrong.
I take the exemple of the new French President. He decided to bring back Europe in our buisness and to make it easier in people's mind.
He wants France to be a bigger leader in Europe and, even if France said no to the Constitution, it doesn't matter for him, he wants french people to accept Europe and to make more jobs with it.

No I am not wrong. I am old enough to have lived through the 18 years of Tory High unemployment and fear of unemployment and high interest rates.
Talk about Europe is just scare mongering. You need to be scared of control freak British Governments which includes the Tories.........Fears of European policy is small by comparison to British die hards fear of change and modernisation..
