This evening I had located my Flipchart pen which I use for writing on my CD ROMs

As I was writing the year for archive purposes, I suddenly realised I was writing the year as 1993 :blush:

(I did this on 2 CD ROMS)

All I can think of is that 1993 is when I came to Newcastle.

If I did slip back at that moment it would have been highly embarrasing , not to mention a danger to the timeline.

Has anyone else experienced a time slip of ten years ?

Any tips for reluctant time travellers ? :conf:

Sticks, I slip back 30 odd years everytime I listen to things like the White album, Dark Side of the Moon, and when listening to things like 'Woodstock' on TOTP2 the other night.

I was the weight I should be, I was wearing that Kaftan, I was burning that incense and flirting with all the young doctors again.........

Mind you I was flirting with all the young doctors yesterday as well:blush:. Some things never change. The only thing about doing that now is that I make THEM blush instead of vice versa, and it's all very safe. Almost as much fun, but not quite.......................:bawling:

This is very off the topic but since you were talking about it...ROB do you work in a hospital?? I am thinking about maybe going into Medicine and was wondering, how many hours do the doctors actually work, do they get much time off? And do you know whether they enjoy what they are doing or find it too stressful? It would be great if you could reply, Thanks xxx

Actually Sticks, this topic has got me thinking back many , many years.

My Grandpa died when I was four and after his death his Greeanhoeuse went to 'rack and ruin' untill all th glass was gone and just the brick trenches full of soil was left. If I ran my fingers through the soil I could smell the tomatoes that he use to grow.

NOW , whenever I smell tomatoes on the vine or growing in a greenhouse I am trasported back to those halcion days when I was a child.

If you could slip back 10 years, what message would you pass to yourself, and would your younger self have listened to you ?

that is a hard one Sticks.

I think my younger self would probably be too arrogant to listen.

I would tell myself something that I had told to me only a couple of days ago.

''Don't try to take responsibility for other peoples happiness. They have to take responsibility for their own happiness, as you have to take for yours ''.

If I had the chance would I go back in time - well I would love to re-live the time between 18 and 20 again. I had just broken off an ill conceived engagement and during those two years had the time of my life. Maybe its looking at life through rose coloured spectacles but life was much safer then or at least we thought so. I thought nothing of having a lift home with a total stranger after a night out or allowing children to wander off by themselves. I can remember when I was 9 or 10 travelling from one side of Bristol to other all by myself so I could go to my nan's for my ballet classes. You wouldnt let a 10 year old do that now. So sad.
