Since ITV is such a much more successful channel do you think if BB was moved from CH4 to ITV it would get alot higher ratings?

Yeah if they changed the idents for the BB eye on the Launch week, which they probably would

I think if any C4 show was on ITV1 or BBC1 it would get double its ratings.

Yes.

But on the other hand Channel 4 is Big Brother's home. I would probably stop watching.

(Disclaimer: there is a 99.9% chance that I will keep watching)

So, since in most years BB gets an average of 5 million, it would get about 10 million viewers and on launch night the most was 7.8 million I think which would be 15.6 million and the most a final ever got was 10 million, so that would be 20 million, making it the practically the most watched show in Britain!

I think BB should move to ITV in all honesty.

It'd be ratings gold.

Well it won't be happening any time soon, C4 have it until 2010!

Well I don't mind but still if they're ever in trouble (ITV or Big Brother).

They might make it better.

ITV has been getting better ratings than CH4 (except with their reality shows bar X Factor) so I think they know what they're and doing and would make the right choices hopefully.

He is the son of the father of ITV, he used to work for the BBC last year, when he swaped it for ITV

What was your point though Chewy?

Were you saying that ITV could very well buy BB?

(I think that sounded rude, but I didn't mean it in a rude way).

I think that Micheal would know how to handle BB on ITV

I have to disagree with most of you on this one . BB has to stay on channel 4 . The essence of the show is typically Channel 4 . Its not taken to seriously ,Also it has that young appeal which most ITV/BBC shows lack. How can one of the most popular shows in Britain ,have its ratings doubled. Maybe by appealing to an older generation. But then it wouldn't be BB as we know it . Most of the world rate it as the best BB avalible , so how could ITV improve upon it . What by X factor''in'' it up .. no thank you. Anyway ITV know channel 4 have a winning formula, that why they use the same presenters e.g our Dermot and even that voice over man with the funny voice is being used on the x-factor. ITV know C4 are the reality kings and so do i

I've watched some shows on ITV and I didn't like they way they made them. I can't imagine BB with a different logo, hosted like a soap with an indoor stage like X Factor.

Would ITV have BB on at 9pm 6 days a week for 13 weeks?

No way.

The show would soon get shunted to a late slot, get fewer viewers that it had in prime time on 4, then get cancelled.

Channel 4 need BB more than any other channel would. They will be committed to making it a success.

ITV would make it dire;

Forget it taking place live outside the house - it'd be a studio audience in a flashy stage, with Ant and Dec. It'd be once a week, on a Saturday, with loads of competitions and...I just dread to think.

It actually has quite a late night slot on CH4.

6-8 pm are prime time.

ITV would ruin it. They would have it on much less. they wouldn't have as many spin off shows.

On eviction nights we would have Ant and Dec running in to the house to reveal the result

It would get more viewers, but I wouldn't be prepared for it to move to C4 to ITV. :conf2:

ITV would ruin it. ITV doesn't need Big Brother, but Big Brother is one of Channel 4's best shows and brings in a lot of the ratings for it, so ITV would treat it with less care than Channel 4 do.

ITV is aimed at families and C4 is aimed at teens therefore it is perfect for BB.
I can’t see many young families sitting down on the couch together with popcorn watching Big Brother.
