Me too lol, it sounds more in line with his old stuff, hopefully he does do the next album with Gary, as I think Gary knows what works for Robbie more than Robbie does himself

If you've been tuning in to Robbie's blogs you'll already know that he has been busy in the studio recording his new album in his Los Angeles studio.

Today, we're extremely excited to announce that the album is set to be released next year by Universal Music following a deal struck between the world’s leading record company and the most successful British male solo artist ever.

The new studio album, Robbie’s first since Reality Killed The Video Star in 2009 and his latest creative venture following his phenomenally successful reunion with Take That, is likely to be the most hotly-anticipated new release of 2012. It will be issued worldwide by Universal Music next Autumn.

“I'm really thrilled to be joining the Universal family at what I think is the most exciting time in my career," said Robbie.

Tim Clark, Director, ie:music Ltd, says, “This great new deal puts Robbie Williams firmly in control of his own destiny, but with the most muscular of partners."

"What a thrill this announcement is," said Chairman/CEO of Universal Music Group, Lucian Grainge. "To be working with Robbie and his team and to have the opportunity to support this incredible stage of his career makes life so exciting."

David Joseph, Universal Music UK chairman & CEO, says: “Having had the chance to listen to the music I’ve no doubt that Robbie is currently at his most creatively inspired. We are about to witness something very special.”

Have you entered the ballot for any of his upcoming shows? I entered for Leeds but there's no chance really :( Really hope so though, would love to see him live as a solo artist, only seen him with Take That.

Candy, written with Gary Barlow and as addictive as the subject of its title, will hit shelves in the UK and Ireland on 29th October, but you can hear it for the first time in just a matter of days! If you're outside the UK, it will be released in your country soon.

Tune into the radio from 8AM BST on Monday 10th September when stations will be giving the track its first play. Anyone outside the UK can listen out for the first plays throughout the morning!

Here's what Robbie had to say about the upcoming release:

“It’s a summer song about a girl who thinks she’s great. And she might be, but she’s a bit nefarious with her ways. Some songs take an age to write and some songs just fall out of your mouth, completely formed, and you don’t have to think about it. I don’t know why that fell out of my mouth and out of my brain at that particular time - it just did.”

Keep an eye on RobbieWilliams.com for news of the official video coming soon...

Given it a few listens now, I think it's one of his best songs since the Intensive Care album came out, it's got a real fun feel that Reality Killed The Video Star missed

I love it, I've been wanting a song like this from Robbie for a long time, while I liked his last album, it was missing a fun track like this. The music video is brilliant :D

Shaun

Yeah I like the video, but the song's no 'Bodies' :hmph:
-waits for single #2 -

Scarlett.
11-09-2012, 10:48 AM
That's true, Bodies was a great song, the rest of the album was so-so though (Morning Sun, You Know Me and Do You Mind were good though), hopefully this one has more hits, with Gary Barlow co-writing the songs, I think we're in for a treat lol

Robbie Williams has stormed into the lead on the official midweek singles chart.

The singer's latest track 'Candy', which has sold over 73,000 in two days, is on course to be his first solo number one in eight years after 2004's 'Radio'.

Proper XFactor Promo shame some former contestants dont get it right.....its all dandy to stand there and sing, but you come across as a lifeless dull horse.......

'Candy' is one of the worst comeback songs I have ever heard.

That is all.

Robbie Williams has been phenomenally successful throughout his career, it didn't really hit me until reading about him having the 1000th #1 album on the UK charts... surprised there's never been anyone like him since his heyday. I'm sure eventually a male popstar will be launched who reaches the levels of success Robbie has.

Scarlett.
27-11-2013, 11:41 PM
Yeah, I like where he's at now, I think he could probably keep on going for a long time still. It no longer feels like he's trying to recapture the past anymore too, he's just doing his own thing now.

I can see Olly being there in 10 years tbh... not nearly as good songs so far, obviously, but I can see him having longevity

I've got to say, I never expected him to even last beyond one album, he's consistently proven me wrong so you could be right!

Listening to the new album, I love "Bully"

All these songs really recapture Robbie's style during "Sing When You're Winning"

I stopped following Robbie for a while, loved his songs and stuff still, but didn't follow him really, but finding myself getting back into music lately, anyone heard if he's making some new stuff?
