Mirren: Hilton is new Diana

Helen Mirren has compared Paris Hilton to the late Princess Diana.

The Oscar-winner believes that the former Princess of Wales and US socialite have many similar personality traits.

She is quoted by Sky Showbiz as saying: "I don't applaud Paris Hilton...but I think she's pretty cool.

"She's developed, like Princess Diana, that deliberate foolishness, which is disarming."

Hilton hasn't shied away from comparisons with the late princess in the past, commenting last year: "I think every decade has an iconic blonde - like Marilyn Monroe or Princess Diana - and right now, I'm that icon."

I think Paris is the sorta person people hate because she didn't earn her fame, and doesn't use it too well, but I think there's WORSE celebs out there.

But she's certainly up there with the celebrity icons, memorable, like Ruth said.

Can't think of many people who would agree either.
