Do any of you girls out there absolutly HATE it when a guy in a car will pip at you like even when they dont knoe you from adam or when you may be walking down the street and they shout random comments at you.Id say they were more insults than comments but some girls I know actually ENJOY IT!I really cant understand their way of thinking-i get really offended.
Like on friday night,i was walkign through the park next to my house to take my sister to brownies. My sister is 8.
From the other end of the park (and its quite a big park) i heard some one wolf whistling so i carried on walking as it could have been directed at anyone, they continued to do it about 5 or six times so in the end i turned around and they shouted at me 'get your rat out'
This may seem funny and i guess it is in a way lol,but i mean my 8 year old sister was with me and i just find it really insutling people shouting at me telling to get my vagina out,i mean what am I some sort of prostitute.Usually i dont take these comments seriously but they are quite annoying and it was embarrasing as my sister was there.
for those of you who have never heard the phrase 'get your rat out' lol it means well show us your bits:rolleyes:

Yeah, it’s highly inappropriate in some cases. Most of the time they’re drunk, or just more confident in groups really and saying exactly how they feel. But it’s bad if they don’t consider at all who you’re with. It happens loads abroad as well in some European countries (from my own personal experience). I think, especially if its local, it’s best to avoid the places you know you can find these people as it can be dangerous at times as well as annoying.

erugh dirty little scruffy no hopers.....funny thing is i walked past them again about half an hour later with my bf and they just started whsipering amongst themselves then as soon as we`d walked to the end of the path right past them they started shouting it again lol idiots.

It's a classic case of "lads lads" and their immature sense of humour...
Plus if a boy asks you to flash your breasts, a part of them is usually hoping you're the kind of girl who will [as some drunk, and non drunken girls out there will happily lift their tops up to draw attention to themselves.]

What I really don't understand, is the girls who are impressed by it. They think the boy is clever and funny, and end up seriously liking him, even after pathetic comments like that =/

I know girls out there however, who think they're good looking purely based on comments like this. "People shout stuff at me and ask me to get my tits out all the time, so I must be pretty fit I guess"

When it's just not the case.
Ive seen many men say it to any kind of female, a lot of the time it can be done in sarcasm. Eg. they think you're so ugly they'll tease you by asking you to show something, when in reality they don't remotely like you.

But yea, as I said, ive seen people develop serious ego's from immature comments made by drunken boys...and then they turn into self obsessed, vain girls who are completely full of themselves.

yeah i know what you mean about the sarcasm thing but i wouldnt say im ugly, not that i think im a stunner or anything.
I find it really humiliating actually,i hate those girls who are flattered by it.Although i have to admit i have a friend who LOVES it if a boy in a car pips at her.I was walking out of college today and got to some traffic lights as i was walkign across this guy prob in his mid twenties, with another guy-both looked like they were benefit scrounging low lifes-shouted FIT! right in my face.
Its just like an insult to me ,it might sound daft but when they shouted in my face its like invading my personal space if you know what i mean and to me its just as bad as going up to someones face and shouting fat cow or ugly.

"This may seem funny and i guess it is in a way lol"
Well you just explained why it happened. You're either offended or you're not, you can't be genuinely offended and upset at it yet still find the humour in it?
It's inappropriate around an 8 year old, thats for certain.

You had 'lol' on the end too, was that a sign of oddness too? I'm just saying people these days are too easy to claim offence at the slightest thing.

It is appropriate end of.I dont see this as normal behaviour if someone were to shout 'ni***r' in my face or say i was in a wheel chair and someone shouted 'spa*******r' in my face it would not be tollerated.
Also I diddnt explain why it happened.there is no explination

well i dont think its 'the slightest thing'
When i say lol i dont actually mean i am laughing out loud.I simply added it becuase i dotn want people turning round and saying i am making a fuss about about nothing and taking offence at the slightest thing.

i put the lol in this post becasue i thought it was funny that they only started shouting it when my bf and i had actually walked past

In my original post i put the lol after id put what they shouted at me because its such a pathetic name to call a vagina and I algo thought that some people from different parts of the uk probably have never heard the expression before.

Well I wouldn't go as far as to compare someone shouting "FIT" to someone shouting "UGLY COW, WHEELCHAIR, SPACKER" etc etc.

Being shouted at can be annoying, but im sure it feels a lot better if someone's shouting miniture compliments, than actually shouting full on insults at you.

The funny thing is, boys just wouldn't take offense at all. They'd love the fact girls are beeping their car horns and shouting compliments etc.

Whereas girls can often be found taking offense from things of that nature.

What makes me laugh is when an ugly boy stares at a girl, she accuses him of being a pervert and disgusting etc.
Whereas if the boy is good looking and she fancies him, she suddenly thinks she's in there and feels really flattered and special.

Truth of the matter is, if the ugly one is a pervert for staring, so is the good looking one...
They're both just looking most likely due to them wanting to have sex with you, but somehow the good looking one will get away with it more.

Which just goes to show how some situations are judged on looks, rather than personality. And how people ignore the bad parts of good looking people, purely because they're nice to look at.

Anyway...
Whether you think you're good looking or not, everyone has different tastes. Some people might be good looking to you, yet ugly to another, and vice versa.

So it doesn't really matter what you think of yourself...
Anyone can fall victim to being called "FIT" in a sarcastic manner.

I've seen some mates doing that, it's stupid. This is insulting towards the girls, not a nice thing to do.

Well of course it's something to do with what they're saying...
If they said "Hiiii I remember you from school!" or "You're really beautiful, here's £10,000" or "Nice top!" or "What time is it?" I doubt it'd be having the same affect.

And I never debated that it's wrong, just that

1. Shouting a compliment and calling someone a wheelchair spack [your words not mine.] are two entirely different things. Verbal assault and discrimination, and even racist comments which you suggested, are in an entirely different league to "You're fit! get them out" or something along those lines.

Some could argue it's sexual harrassment, but im sure most are aware it's just boys being boys under the influence of alcohol and they're not actually going to run on over and force sex upon you. Otherwise we'd be talking about a rape topic, not a boys being a nuissance topic. Plus discrimination and racism is an offense, shouting silly comments whilst drunk would rarely even warrant you a warning from the police.

2. Just because they shout at someone about their good looks, doesn't necessarily mean they're being truthful..and could just be playing games/having a laugh/generally being nasty.

Because I hate to say it, but as offended as most girls are by it, im sure a large majority are thinking deep down "perhaps I really am good looking and wanted by lots of boys, since they're all asking me to take my top off and what not" which isn't necessarily the case.
