It was horrible when that tragic accident happened with concorde in July 25th 2000, but surely they didnt need to get rid of that airline, it was a French and English design and was a great invention and looked beautiful too, I guess that the chance of concorde ever making money after that accident was never going to happen. It was very expensive to fly by that anyway, I think the future is in cheap airlines company like Easyjet and the like.

I think it's because when other plane companies have a plane crash, we dont associate the company with the plane too much. I remember Pan Am crash over Lockerby and how awful that was, but if you asked joe public whether they will remember or not whether it was a Pan Am or something else, they probably wouldn't. But the concorde crash everyone knows but why they cant bring it back and try to make something from such a great invention, I just can't work out. Surely it can't be that much of a white elephant. There must be profit to be made

One famous plane crashes that is well known for its speed = EVERYONE STAY AWAY FROM THAT PLANE! IT GOES TOO FAST, CRASHES, THEN EVERYONE DIES!

Many unknown planes of no importance crash = Very unlikely to be me that crashes, I heard that there's a bigger chance of crashing in a car than a plane, and we all happily drive cars right? so the planes more than safe.

Of course there is more chance in crashing in a car. In fact the chances of crashing or a plane blowing up is probably hundreds of thousands to one, or even much higher. Concorde was one of the most fantastic inventions ever in the world of modern aircraft. Now it is a casualty, no more future.

My sentences were said from the average persons point of view, not mine...
So of course I know there's more chance of crashing in a car than a plane.

But not many people know that as fact, it's just something they've heard randomly through conversation/television etc.

Maybe if everyday planes were replaced entirely by concorde type models, it wouldn't be as much of an issue and we'd all happily fly in one. Sadly, the time and money that would need to go into that is far too much.

Would still be good though, purely because the cost of flying on a concorde type plane would have to stay similar to our current costs of flying on an everyday plane, which means we'd all have the opportunity to fly in one, mostly.

Theres actually more chance of getting killed by your trousers than dying on a plane.

The Concorde (yes, there's an "e," God knows why) always had a slightly negative connotation. From what my dad told me (as he had been on numerous ones because of business), they were very cramped, loud, and rough planes. Not to mention the safety record wasn't the greatest ever attained…

Concorde was due to be fazed out even if that crash had not happened. It was too expensive to maintain. All though BA did make a profit in the end (by upping the prices to what passengers perceived they would be) they could make a better profit flying people sub-sonically on lager more fuel efficient planes.

If they were to try and faze it back in the green lobby would have a field day too.

It was a thing of beauty though.
